Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said:“ Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me;

That is why, when Christ came into the world, he said to God,“ You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings. But you have given me a body to offer.

Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, But a body didst thou prepare for me;

Therefore, as He was coming into the world, He said: You did not want sacrifice and offering, but You prepared a body for Me.

Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

So when he came into the world, he said,“ Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me.

Therefore when he comes into the world, he says,“ You didn’t desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me.

“ Do you think I need any more of your sacrifices?” asks the Lord.“ I have more than enough of your burnt offerings. I have more than enough of rams and the fat of your fattest animals. I do not find any pleasure in the blood of your bulls, lambs and goats.

The Lord himself will give you a sign. The virgin is going to have a baby. She will give birth to a son. And he will be called Immanuel.

You didn’t want sacrifices and offerings. You didn’t require burnt offerings and sin offerings. You opened my ears so that I could hear you and obey you.Then I said,“ Here I am. It is written about me in the book.My God, I have come to do what you want. Your law is in my heart.”

“ He himself carried our sins” in his body on the cross.( Isaiah 53:5) He did it so that we would die as far as sins are concerned. Then we would lead godly lives.“ His wounds have healed you.”( Isaiah 53:5)

But as Joseph was thinking about this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. The angel said,“ Joseph, son of David, don’t be afraid to take Mary home as your wife. The baby inside her is from the Holy Spirit.She is going to have a son. You must give him the name Jesus. That’s because he will save his people from their sins.”All this took place to bring about what the Lord had said would happen. He had said through the prophet,“ The virgin is going to have a baby. She will give birth to a son. And he will be called Immanuel.”( Isaiah 7:14) The name Immanuel means“ God with us.”

God’s first and only Son is over all things. When God brings him into the world, he says,“ Let all God’s angels worship him.”( Deuteronomy 32:43)

We have been made holy by what God wanted. We have been made holy because Jesus Christ offered his body once and for all time.

Then I said,‘ Here I am. It is written about me in the book. I have come to do what you want, my God.’ ”( Psalm 40:6–8)

The Word became a human being. He made his home with us. We have seen his glory. It is the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father. And the Word was full of grace and truth.

Those children have bodies made out of flesh and blood. So Jesus became human like them in order to die for them. By doing this, he could break the power of the devil. The devil is the one who rules over the kingdom of death.

I don’t bring charges against you because of your sacrifices. I don’t bring charges because of the burnt offerings you always bring me.I don’t need a bull from your barn. I don’t need goats from your pens.Every animal in the forest already belongs to me. And so do the cattle on a thousand hills.I own every bird in the mountains. The insects in the fields belong to me.If I were hungry, I wouldn’t tell you. The world belongs to me. And so does everything in it.Do I eat the meat of bulls? Do I drink the blood of goats?Bring me thank offerings, because I am your God. Carry out the promises you made to me, because I am the Most High God.Call out to me when trouble comes. I will save you. And you will honor me.”But here is what God says to a sinful person.“ What right do you have to speak the words of my laws? How dare you speak the words of my covenant!You hate my teaching. You turn your back on what I say.When you see a thief, you join him. You make friends with those who commit adultery.You use your mouth to speak evil. You use your tongue to spread lies.You are a witness against your brother. You always tell lies about your own mother’s son.When you did these things, I kept silent. So you thought I was just like you. But now I’m going to bring you to court. I will bring charges against you.“ You who forget God, think about this. If you don’t, I will tear you to pieces. No one will be able to save you.People who sacrifice thank offerings to me honor me. To those who are without blame I will show my power to save.”

But then the chosen time came. God sent his Son. A woman gave birth to him. He was born under the authority of the law.

The angel answered,“ The Holy Spirit will come to you. The power of the Most High God will cover you. So the holy one that is born will be called the Son of God.

I will make you and the woman hate each other. Your children and her children will be enemies. Her son will crush your head. And you will bite his heel.”

The Lord says,“ I hate your holy feasts. I can’t stand them. Your gatherings stink.You bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings. But I will not accept them. You bring your best friendship offerings. But I will not even look at them.

How long will you wander, my people Israel, who are not faithful to me? I will create a new thing on earth. The woman will return to the man.”

There is no doubt that true godliness comes from this great mystery. Jesus came as a human being. The Holy Spirit proved that he was the Son of God. He was seen by angels. He was preached among the nations. People in the world believed in him. He was taken up to heaven in glory.

Here is how you can recognize the Spirit of God. Every spirit agreeing that Jesus Christ came in a human body belongs to God.But every spirit that doesn’t agree with this does not belong to God. You have heard that the spirit of the great enemy of Christ is coming. Even now it is already in the world.

They asked Jesus,“ Are you the one who is supposed to come? Or should we look for someone else?”

Every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices. So this priest also had to have something to offer.

He sent them to the Lord. John told them to ask him,“ Are you the one who is supposed to come? Or should we look for someone else?”

What do I care about incense from the land of Sheba? Why should I bother with sweet- smelling cane from a land far away? I do not accept your burnt offerings. Your sacrifices do not please me.”
