Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, But a body didst thou prepare for me;

Therefore, as He was coming into the world, He said: You did not want sacrifice and offering, but You prepared a body for Me.

Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

So when he came into the world, he said,“ Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me.

Therefore when he comes into the world, he says,“ You didn’t desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me.

“ What to me is the multitude of your sacrifices? says the Lord; I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams and the fat of well-fed beasts; I do not delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of goats.

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

In sacrifice and offering you have not delighted, but you have given me an open ear. Burnt offering and sin offering you have not required.Then I said,“ Behold, I have come; in the scroll of the book it is written of me:I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.”

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying,“ Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet:“ Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel”( which means, God with us).

And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says,“ Let all God’s angels worship him.”

And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Then I said,‘ Behold, I have come to do your will, O God, as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’”

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,

Not for your sacrifices do I rebuke you; your burnt offerings are continually before me.I will not accept a bull from your house or goats from your folds.For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills.I know all the birds of the hills, and all that moves in the field is mine.“ If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world and its fullness are mine.Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and perform your vows to the Most High,and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”But to the wicked God says:“ What right have you to recite my statutes or take my covenant on your lips?For you hate discipline, and you cast my words behind you.If you see a thief, you are pleased with him, and you keep company with adulterers.“ You give your mouth free rein for evil, and your tongue frames deceit.You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother’s son.These things you have done, and I have been silent; you thought that I was one like yourself. But now I rebuke you and lay the charge before you.“ Mark this, then, you who forget God, lest I tear you apart, and there be none to deliver!The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me; to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvation of God!”

But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law,

And the angel answered her,“ The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy— the Son of God.

I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”

“ I hate, I despise your feasts, and I take no delight in your solemn assemblies.Even though you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them; and the peace offerings of your fattened animals, I will not look upon them.

How long will you waver, O faithless daughter? For the Lord has created a new thing on the earth: a woman encircles a man.”

Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.

and said to him,“ Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?”

For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices; thus it is necessary for this priest also to have something to offer.

calling two of his disciples to him, sent them to the Lord, saying,“ Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?”

What use to me is frankincense that comes from Sheba, or sweet cane from a distant land? Your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices pleasing to me.
