Suppose someone did not obey the law of Moses. And suppose two or three witnesses made charges against them. That person would die without mercy.

人干犯摩西的律法，凭两三个见证人，尚且不得怜恤而死，

任何人干犯摩西的律法，凭两个或三个证人，尚且必须处死，不得宽赦，

任何人干犯摩西的律法，凭两个或三个证人，尚且必须处死，不得宽赦，

人违犯摩西的律法，经两三个人指证后，尚且被毫不留情地处死，

如果有人干犯了摩西的律法，凭着两三个证人，他尚且得不到怜悯而死；

任何拒绝摩西律法的人，凭两个或三个见证人的见证，就得不到怜悯而死，

人干犯摩西的律法，憑兩三個見證人，尚且不得憐恤而死，

任何人干犯摩西的律法，憑兩個或三個證人，尚且必須處死，不得寬赦，

任何人干犯摩西的律法，憑兩個或三個證人，尚且必須處死，不得寬赦，

人違犯摩西的律法，經兩三個人指證後，尚且被毫不留情地處死，

如果有人干犯了摩西的律法，憑著兩三個證人，他尚且得不到憐憫而死；

一個人干犯了摩西的律法，憑着兩個或三個見證人的話，就必須死，不能得憐憫。

任何拒絕摩西律法的人，憑兩個或三個見證人的見證，就得不到憐憫而死，

拒摩西之律者、有二三人為證、其死無恤、

昔有犯摩西律法者、若二三人為證、必殺之不恤、

若有犯摩西律法者、二三人作證、必殺之無赦、

昔人干犯摩西律法、根據二三人之證言、尚且殺之無貸；

Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses.

For anyone who refused to obey the law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

Anyone who disregarded the law of Moses died without mercy, based on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

Anyone who has ignored the Law of Moses is put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

A man that hath set at nought Moses’ law dieth without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses:

If anyone disregards Moses’ law, he dies without mercy, based on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

Someone who rejected the law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

A man who disregards Moses’ law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses.

Even the message God spoke through angels had to be obeyed. Every time people broke the Law, they were punished. Every time they didn’t obey, they were punished.

Suppose someone is charged with committing a crime of any kind. Then one witness won’t be enough to prove that person is guilty. Every matter must be proved by the words of two or three witnesses.

But what if they won’t listen to you? Then take one or two others with you. Scripture says,‘ Every matter must be proved by the words of two or three witnesses.’( Deuteronomy 19:15)

Your own Law says that the witness of two people proves the truth about something.

When their twigs are dry, they will be broken off. Then women will come and make fires with them. The people of Jacob don’t understand the Lord. So the God who made them won’t be concerned about them. Their Creator won’t be kind to them.

Why did you turn your back on what I told you to do? You did what is evil in my sight. You made sure that Uriah, the Hittite, would be killed in battle. You took his wife to be your own. You let the men of Ammon kill him with their swords.

This will be my third visit to you. Scripture says,“ Every matter must be proved by the words of two or three witnesses.”( Deuteronomy 19:15)

I will smash them against one another. I will punish parents and children alike,” announces the Lord.“ I will not feel sorry for them. I will not show them any kindness. My tender love for them will not keep me from destroying them.” ’ ”

“‘ But suppose someone sins on purpose. It does not matter whether they are an Israelite or an outsider. They speak evil things against the Lord. They must be separated from the community of Israel.They have not respected what the Lord has said. They have broken the Lord’ s commands. They must certainly be separated from the community. They are still guilty.’ ”

Then David said to Nathan,“ I have sinned against the Lord.” Nathan replied,“ The Lord has taken away your sin. You aren’t going to die.

So the people took the man outside the camp. There they killed him by throwing stones at him. They did just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Don’t feel sorry for him. He has killed someone who hadn’t done anything wrong. Crimes like that must be punished in Israel. Then things will go well with you.

Someone living among you might do what is evil in the sight of the Lord your God. It might happen in one of the towns the Lord is giving you. That person is breaking the Lord’ s covenant.The person might have worshiped or bowed down to other gods. That person might have bowed down to the sun or moon or stars in the sky. I have commanded you not to do these things.When you hear that people have done something like that, check the matter out carefully. If it’s true, an evil thing has been done in Israel. The Lord hates that.So take the person who has done that evil thing to your city gate. Put that person to death by throwing stones at them.Two or three witnesses are required to put someone to death. No one can be put to death because of what only one witness says. Two or three witnesses are required.The witnesses must throw the first stones. Then the rest of the people must also throw stones. Get rid of that evil person.People will bring their cases to your courts. But some cases will be too hard for you to judge. They might be about murders, attacks or other crimes. Then take those hard cases to the place the Lord your God will choose.Go to a priest, who is a Levite. And go to the judge who is in office at that time. Ask them for their decision. They will give it to you.They’ll hand down their decisions at the place the Lord will choose. You must do what they decide. Be careful to do everything they tell you to do.Act according to whatever they teach you. Accept the decisions they give you. Don’t turn away from what they tell you. Don’t turn to the right or the left.Someone might show that they don’t respect the judge. Or they will show that they don’t respect the priest. The priest will serve the Lord your God at the place God will choose. If anyone doesn’t show respect for these people, that person must be put to death. Remove that evil person from Israel.All the Israelites will hear about it. And they will be afraid to disrespect a judge or priest again.

He said to Moses,“ I will have mercy on whom I have mercy. I will show love to those I love.”( Exodus 33:19)

Those who have not shown mercy will not receive mercy when they are judged. To show mercy is better than to judge.

Suppose your very own brother or sister secretly tempts you to do something wrong. Or your child or the wife you love tempts you. Or your closest friend does it. Suppose one of them says,“ Let’s go and worship other gods.” But you and your people of long ago hadn’t known anything about those gods before.They are the gods of the nations around you. Those nations might be near or far away. In fact, they might reach from one end of the land to the other.Don’t give in to those who are tempting you. Don’t listen to them. Don’t feel sorry for them. Don’t spare them or save them.You must certainly put them to death. You must be the first to throw stones at them. Then all the people must do the same thing.Put them to death by throwing stones at them. They tried to turn you away from the Lord your God. He brought you out of Egypt. That’s the land where you were slaves.
