And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

You must warn each other every day, while it is still“ today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God.

So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.

in the name of the Lord Jesus. You must call a meeting of the church. I will be present with you in spirit, and so will the power of our Lord Jesus.

So encourage each other with these words.

On the first day of the week, we gathered with the local believers to share in the Lord’s Supper. Paul was preaching to them, and since he was leaving the next day, he kept talking until midnight.

So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living.Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy.

That Sunday evening the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them!“ Peace be with you,” he said.As he spoke, he showed them the wounds in his hands and his side. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them.“ Peace be with you,” he said.Then he said to Thomas,“ Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!”“ My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed.Then Jesus told him,“ You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”

When they arrived, they went to the upstairs room of the house where they were staying. Here are the names of those who were present: Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James( son of Alphaeus), Simon( the zealot), and Judas( son of James).They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus.

But one who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them, and comforts them.

When you meet together, you are not really interested in the Lord’s Supper.

Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.

You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.

In the same way, when you see all these things taking place, you can know that his return is very near, right at the door.I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass from the scene before all these things take place.

But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value.

And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in his sight.

The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.

The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers.

These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God’s Spirit in them.

In the same way, when you see all these things, you can know his return is very near, right at the door.I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass from the scene until all these things take place.
