我們既然有一位偉大的祭司治理神的家，

我們又既有一位尊大的祭司治理上帝的家，

既然我們有一位偉大的祭司管理神的家，

且既有大祭司宰上帝家、

我得大祭司、理上帝宮、

且既有大祭司、理天主之家、

今吾人在天主宅中、既有偌大之司祭矣；

and since we have a great priest over the house of God,

and having a High Priest over the house of God,

Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brothers so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

but in case I am delayed, I write so that you will know how one should act in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.

Now the main point in what has been said is this: we have such a high priest, who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let’s hold firmly to our confession.For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things just as we are, yet without sin.Therefore let’s approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help at the time of our need.

For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens;

Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession: Jesus;

For He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by just so much as the builder of the house has more honor than the house.For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken later;but Christ was faithful as a Son over His house— whose house we are, if we hold firmly to our confidence and the boast of our hope.

For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each person must be careful how he builds on it.For no one can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw,each one’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each one’s work.If anyone’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward.If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet only so as through fire.Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?If anyone destroys the temple of God, God will destroy that person; for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.

And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.

So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household,having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone,in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord,in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.

Or what agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said,“ I will dwell among them and walk among them; And I will be their God, and they shall be My people.Therefore, come out from their midst and be separate,” says the Lord.“ And do not touch what is unclean; And I will welcome you.
