He will rule on David’s throne and over David’s kingdom, establishing it and strengthening it by promoting justice and fairness, from this time forward and forevermore. The LORD’s intense devotion to his people will accomplish this.

Your kingdom is an eternal kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations.

For he has come to deserve greater glory than Moses, just as the builder of a house deserves greater honor than the house itself!For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.

Thomas replied to him,“ My Lord and my God!”

“ Look! The virgin will conceive and bear a son, and they will call him Emmanuel,” which means“ God with us.”

And we all agree, our religion contains amazing revelation: He was revealed in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among Gentiles, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

You will be blessed beyond all peoples; there will be no barrenness among you or your livestock.

All kings will bow down to him; all nations will serve him.For he will rescue the needy when they cry out for help, and the oppressed who have no defender.He will take pity on the poor and needy; the lives of the needy he will save.From harm and violence he will defend them; he will value their lives.

He will turn many of the people of Israel to the Lord their God.And he will go as forerunner before the Lord in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers back to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared for him.”

Look, a king will promote fairness; officials will promote justice.Each of them will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from a rainstorm; like streams of water in a dry region and like the shade of a large cliff in a parched land.

All the descendants of Israel will be vindicated by the LORD and will boast in him.

However, you did not approach the land of the Ammonites, the Wadi Jabbok, the cities of the hill country, or any place else forbidden by the LORD our God.

Jeremiah said to Zedekiah,“ If I answer you, you will certainly kill me. If I give you advice, you will not listen to me.”

Tell me! Present the evidence! Let them consult with one another! Who predicted this in the past? Who announced it beforehand? Was it not I, the LORD? I have no peer, there is no God but me, a God who vindicates and delivers; there is none but me.Turn to me so you can be delivered, all you who live in the earth’s remote regions! For I am God, and I have no peer.

O God, grant the king the ability to make just decisions! Grant the king’s son the ability to make fair decisions!Then he will judge your people fairly, and your oppressed ones equitably.The mountains will bring news of peace to the people, and the hills will announce justice.He will defend the oppressed among the people; he will deliver the children of the poor and crush the oppressor.

The Jewish leaders replied,“ We are not going to stone you for a good deed but for blasphemy, because you, a man, are claiming to be God.”

For thus an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be richly provided for you.

During his days the godly will flourish; peace will prevail as long as the moon remains in the sky.

Then I will bring the remaining third into the fire; I will refine them like silver is refined and will test them like gold is tested. They will call on my name and I will answer; I will say,‘ These are my people,’ and they will say,‘ The LORD is my God.’”
