I struck you with blight and mildew and hail in all the labors of your hands; yet you did not turn to Me,’ says the Lord.

耶和华说：‘我用旱风、霉烂和冰雹击打你们，和你们手里的一切工作，你们还是不归向我。

在你們手下的各樣工作上，我以旱風、霉爛、冰雹攻擊你們，你們仍不歸向我。這是耶和華說的。

我曾用蟲災、黴災和冰雹毀滅你們的作物，你們仍沒有歸向我。這是耶和華說的。

耶和華說：‘我用旱風、霉爛和冰雹擊打你們，和你們手裡的一切工作，你們還是不歸向我。

那時我用旱風和霉爛擊打你們，又用冰雹擊打你們手下的各樣農作物，你們仍然不歸向我：永恆主發神諭說。

耶和華曰、我以暴風毒黴大雹、擊爾於爾手之工作、而爾猶不歸我、

耶和華曰、爾雖勤勞、我使風暴五穀、細弱特甚、雨雹以毀傷之、爾猶不歸誠於我、

主曰、我使爾勤勞所種者、為風所暴、細弱枯槁、或被雹毀傷、爾猶不歸誠於我、此乃主所言、

I struck all the work of your hands with blight, mildew and hail, yet you did not return to me,’ declares the Lord.

You worked very hard to produce all those things. But I struck them with rot, mold and hail. And you still did not return to me,’ announces the Lord.

I struck you and all the products of your toil with blight and with mildew and with hail, yet you did not turn to me, declares the Lord.

I sent blight and mildew and hail to destroy everything you worked so hard to produce. Even so, you refused to return to me, says the Lord.

I struck you— all the work of your hands— with blight, mildew, and hail, but you didn’t turn to me— this is the LORD’s declaration.

I struck you and every work of your hands with scorching wind, mildew, and hail; yet you did not come back to Me,’ declares the Lord.

I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the work of your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith Jehovah.

I struck you— all the work of your hands— with blight, mildew, and hail, but you didn’t turn to Me”— this is the Lord’s declaration.

I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the labours of your hands; yet ye[ turned] not to me, saith the LORD.

I struck all the products of your labor with blight, disease, and hail, and yet you brought nothing to me,’ says the LORD.

I struck you with blight, mildew, and hail in all the work of your hands; yet you didn’t turn to me,’ says Yahweh.

The Lord will strike you with consumption, with fever, with inflammation, with severe burning fever, with the sword, with scorching, and with mildew; they shall pursue you until you perish.

“ When there is famine in the land, pestilence or blight or mildew, locusts or grasshoppers; when their enemy besieges them in the land of their cities; whatever plague or whatever sickness there is;

“ You looked for much, but indeed it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why?” says the Lord of hosts.“ Because of My house that is in ruins, while every one of you runs to his own house.

So two or three cities wandered to another city to drink water, But they were not satisfied; Yet you have not returned to Me,” Says the Lord.“ I blasted you with blight and mildew. When your gardens increased, Your vineyards, Your fig trees, And your olive trees, The locust devoured them; Yet you have not returned to Me,” Says the Lord.“ I sent among you a plague after the manner of Egypt; Your young men I killed with a sword, Along with your captive horses; I made the stench of your camps come up into your nostrils; Yet you have not returned to Me,” Says the Lord.“ I overthrew some of you, As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, And you were like a firebrand plucked from the burning; Yet you have not returned to Me,” Says the Lord.

O Lord, are not Your eyes on the truth? You have stricken them, But they have not grieved; You have consumed them, But they have refused to receive correction. They have made their faces harder than rock; They have refused to return.

For I called for a drought on the land and the mountains, on the grain and the new wine and the oil, on whatever the ground brings forth, on men and livestock, and on all the labor of your hands.”

Thus says the Lord:“ Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said,‘ We will not walk in it.’Also, I set watchmen over you, saying,‘ Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’ But they said,‘ We will not listen.’

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts:‘ Execute true justice, Show mercy and compassion Everyone to his brother.Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, The alien or the poor. Let none of you plan evil in his heart Against his brother.’“ But they refused to heed, shrugged their shoulders, and stopped their ears so that they could not hear.Yes, they made their hearts like flint, refusing to hear the law and the words which the Lord of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets. Thus great wrath came from the Lord of hosts.Therefore it happened, that just as He proclaimed and they would not hear, so they called out and I would not listen,” says the Lord of hosts.

But as one of them opened his sack to give his donkey feed at the encampment, he saw his money; and there it was, in the mouth of his sack.

The Lord has sworn by His right hand And by the arm of His strength:“ Surely I will no longer give your grain As food for your enemies; And the sons of the foreigner shall not drink your new wine, For which you have labored.

Now in the time of his distress King Ahaz became increasingly unfaithful to the Lord. This is that King Ahaz.

“ When there is famine in the land, pestilence or blight or mildew, locusts or grasshoppers; when their enemies besiege them in the land of their cities; whatever plague or whatever sickness there is;

And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent.

“ But the hypocrites in heart store up wrath; They do not cry for help when He binds them.

Behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause very heavy hail to rain down, such as has not been in Egypt since its founding until now.Therefore send now and gather your livestock and all that you have in the field, for the hail shall come down on every man and every animal which is found in the field and is not brought home; and they shall die.”’”He who feared the word of the Lord among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his livestock flee to the houses.But he who did not regard the word of the Lord left his servants and his livestock in the field.Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt— on man, on beast, and on every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.”And Moses stretched out his rod toward heaven; and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and fire darted to the ground. And the Lord rained hail on the land of Egypt.So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, so very heavy that there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.And the hail struck throughout the whole land of Egypt, all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail struck every herb of the field and broke every tree of the field.Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, there was no hail.And Pharaoh sent and called for Moses and Aaron, and said to them,“ I have sinned this time. The Lord is righteous, and my people and I are wicked.Entreat the Lord, that there may be no more mighty thundering and hail, for it is enough. I will let you go, and you shall stay no longer.”So Moses said to him,“ As soon as I have gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands to the Lord; the thunder will cease, and there will be no more hail, that you may know that the earth is the LORD’s.

Now Joseph was governor over the land; and it was he who sold to all the people of the land. And Joseph’s brothers came and bowed down before him with their faces to the earth.

Therefore their inhabitants had little power; They were dismayed and confounded; They were as the grass of the field And the green herb, As the grass on the housetops And grain blighted before it is grown.

Behold, the Lord has a mighty and strong one, Like a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, Like a flood of mighty waters overflowing, Who will bring them down to the earth with His hand.

“ Also I gave you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, And lack of bread in all your places; Yet you have not returned to Me,” Says the Lord.

For shame has devoured The labor of our fathers from our youth— Their flocks and their herds, Their sons and their daughters.

“ Moreover you shall say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord:“ Will they fall and not rise? Will one turn away and not return?Why has this people slidden back, Jerusalem, in a perpetual backsliding? They hold fast to deceit, They refuse to return.I listened and heard, But they do not speak aright. No man repented of his wickedness, Saying,‘ What have I done?’ Everyone turned to his own course, As the horse rushes into the battle.“ Even the stork in the heavens Knows her appointed times; And the turtledove, the swift, and the swallow Observe the time of their coming. But My people do not know the judgment of the Lord.

But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk.And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

Aliens have devoured his strength, But he does not know it; Yes, gray hairs are here and there on him, Yet he does not know it.And the pride of Israel testifies to his face, But they do not return to the Lord their God, Nor seek Him for all this.

“ The Lord has been very angry with your fathers.Therefore say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts:“ Return to Me,” says the Lord of hosts,“ and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts.“ Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets preached, saying,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts:“ Turn now from your evil ways and your evil deeds.”’ But they did not hear nor heed Me,” says the Lord.

For the people do not turn to Him who strikes them, Nor do they seek the Lord of hosts.

He also gave their crops to the caterpillar, And their labor to the locust.

But they did not know that Joseph understood them, for he spoke to them through an interpreter.

Therefore He has poured on him the fury of His anger And the strength of battle; It has set him on fire all around, Yet he did not know; And it burned him, Yet he did not take it to heart.
