I struck all the products of your labor with blight, disease, and hail, and yet you brought nothing to me,’ says the LORD.

那時我用旱風和霉爛擊打你們，又用冰雹擊打你們手下的各樣農作物，你們仍然不歸向我：永恆主發神諭說。

耶和華曰、我以暴風毒黴大雹、擊爾於爾手之工作、而爾猶不歸我、

耶和華曰、爾雖勤勞、我使風暴五穀、細弱特甚、雨雹以毀傷之、爾猶不歸誠於我、

主曰、我使爾勤勞所種者、為風所暴、細弱枯槁、或被雹毀傷、爾猶不歸誠於我、此乃主所言、

I struck all the work of your hands with blight, mildew and hail, yet you did not return to me,’ declares the Lord.

You worked very hard to produce all those things. But I struck them with rot, mold and hail. And you still did not return to me,’ announces the Lord.

I struck you and all the products of your toil with blight and with mildew and with hail, yet you did not turn to me, declares the Lord.

I sent blight and mildew and hail to destroy everything you worked so hard to produce. Even so, you refused to return to me, says the Lord.

I struck you— all the work of your hands— with blight, mildew, and hail, but you didn’t turn to me— this is the LORD’s declaration.

I struck you and every work of your hands with scorching wind, mildew, and hail; yet you did not come back to Me,’ declares the Lord.

I struck you with blight and mildew and hail in all the labors of your hands; yet you did not turn to Me,’ says the Lord.

I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the work of your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith Jehovah.

I struck you— all the work of your hands— with blight, mildew, and hail, but you didn’t turn to Me”— this is the Lord’s declaration.

He will afflict you with weakness, fever, inflammation, infection, sword, blight, and mildew; these will attack you until you perish.

“ The time will come when the land suffers from a famine, a plague, blight and disease, or a locust invasion, or when their enemy lays siege to the cities of the land, or when some other type of plague or epidemic occurs.

‘ You expected a large harvest, but instead there was little, and when you brought it home it disappeared right away. Why?’ asks the LORD who rules over all.‘ Because my temple remains in ruins, thanks to each of you favoring his own house!

People from two or three cities staggered into one city to get water, but remained thirsty. Still you did not come back to me.” The LORD is speaking!“ I destroyed your crops with blight and disease. Locusts kept devouring your orchards, vineyards, fig trees, and olive trees. Still you did not come back to me.” The LORD is speaking!“ I sent against you a plague like one of the Egyptian plagues. I killed your young men with the sword, along with the horses you had captured. I made the stench from the corpses rise up into your nostrils. Still you did not come back to me.” The LORD is speaking!“ I overthrew some of you the way God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. You were like a burning stick snatched from the flames. Still you did not come back to me.” The LORD is speaking!

LORD, I know you look for faithfulness. But even when you punish these people, they feel no remorse. Even when you nearly destroy them, they refuse to be corrected. They have become as hardheaded as a rock. They refuse to change their ways.

Moreover, I have called for a drought that will affect the fields, the hill country, the grain, new wine, fresh olive oil, and everything that grows from the ground; it also will harm people, animals, and everything they produce.’”

The LORD said to his people:“ You are standing at the crossroads. So consider your path. Ask where the old, reliable paths are. Ask where the path is that leads to blessing and follow it. If you do, you will find rest for your souls.” But they said,“ We will not follow it!”The LORD said,“ I appointed prophets as watchmen to warn you, saying:‘ Pay attention to the warning sound of the trumpet!’” But they said,“ We will not pay attention!”

“ The LORD who rules over all said,‘ Exercise true judgment and show brotherhood and compassion to each other.You must not oppress the widow, the orphan, the foreigner, or the poor, nor should anyone secretly plot evil against his fellow human being.’“ But they refused to pay attention, turning away stubbornly and stopping their ears so they could not hear.Indeed, they made their heart as hard as diamond, so that they could not obey the Torah and the other words the LORD who rules over all had sent by his Spirit through the former prophets. Therefore, the LORD who rules over all had poured out great wrath.“‘ It then came about that just as I cried out, but they would not obey, so they will cry out, but I will not listen,’ the LORD LORD WHO RULES OVER ALL had said.

When one of them opened his sack to get feed for his donkey at their resting place, he saw his money in the mouth of his sack.

The LORD swears an oath by his right hand, by his strong arm:“ I will never again give your grain to your enemies as food, and foreigners will not drink your wine, which you worked hard to produce.

During his time of trouble King Ahaz was even more unfaithful to the LORD.

“ The time will come when the land suffers from a famine, a plague, blight, and disease, or a locust invasion, or when their enemy lays siege to the cities of the land, or when some other type of plague or epidemic occurs.

The hail struck everything that grows in the field, and it broke all the trees of the field to pieces.Only in the land of Goshen, where the Israelites lived, was there no hail.So Pharaoh sent and summoned Moses and Aaron and said to them,“ I have sinned this time! The LORD is righteous, and I and my people are guilty.Pray to the LORD, for the mighty thunderings and hail are too much! I will release you and you will stay no longer.”Moses said to him,“ When I leave the city I will spread my hands to the LORD, the thunder will cease, and there will be no more hail, so that you may know that the earth belongs to the LORD.

Now Joseph was the ruler of the country, the one who sold grain to all the people of the country. Joseph’s brothers came and bowed down before him with their faces to the ground.

Their residents are powerless; they are terrified and ashamed. They are as short-lived as plants in the field or green vegetation. They are as short-lived as grass on the rooftops when it is scorched by the east wind.

They refuse to turn back to me.I have listened to them very carefully, but they do not speak honestly. None of them regrets the evil he has done. None of them says,“ I have done wrong!” All of them persist in their own wayward course like a horse charging recklessly into battle.Even the stork knows when it is time to move on. The turtledove, swallow, and crane recognize the normal times for their migration. But my people pay no attention to what I, the LORD, require of them.

The rest of humanity, who had not been killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, so that they did not stop worshiping demons and idols made of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood– idols that cannot see or hear or walk about.Furthermore, they did not repent of their murders, of their magic spells, of their sexual immorality, or of their stealing.

Foreigners are consuming what his strenuous labor produced, but he does not recognize it! His head is filled with gray hair, but he does not realize it!The arrogance of Israel testifies against him, yet they refuse to return to the LORD their God! In spite of all this they refuse to seek him!

The LORD was very angry with your ancestors.Therefore say to the people: The LORD who rules over all says,“ Turn to me,” says the LORD who rules over all,“ and I will turn to you,” says the LORD who rules over all.“ Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the former prophets called out, saying,‘ The LORD who rules over all says,“ Turn now from your evil wickedness,”’ but they would by no means obey me,” says the LORD.

The people did not return to the one who struck them, they did not seek reconciliation with the LORD who commands armies.

He gave their crops to the grasshopper, the fruit of their labor to the locust.

So he poured out his fierce anger on them, along with the devastation of war. Its flames encircled them, but they did not realize it; it burned against them, but they did notice.
