I struck you— all the work of your hands— with blight, mildew, and hail, but you didn’t turn to me— this is the LORD’s declaration.

那時我用旱風和霉爛擊打你們，又用冰雹擊打你們手下的各樣農作物，你們仍然不歸向我：永恆主發神諭說。

耶和華曰、我以暴風毒黴大雹、擊爾於爾手之工作、而爾猶不歸我、

耶和華曰、爾雖勤勞、我使風暴五穀、細弱特甚、雨雹以毀傷之、爾猶不歸誠於我、

主曰、我使爾勤勞所種者、為風所暴、細弱枯槁、或被雹毀傷、爾猶不歸誠於我、此乃主所言、

I struck all the work of your hands with blight, mildew and hail, yet you did not return to me,’ declares the Lord.

You worked very hard to produce all those things. But I struck them with rot, mold and hail. And you still did not return to me,’ announces the Lord.

I struck you and all the products of your toil with blight and with mildew and with hail, yet you did not turn to me, declares the Lord.

I sent blight and mildew and hail to destroy everything you worked so hard to produce. Even so, you refused to return to me, says the Lord.

I struck you and every work of your hands with scorching wind, mildew, and hail; yet you did not come back to Me,’ declares the Lord.

I struck you with blight and mildew and hail in all the labors of your hands; yet you did not turn to Me,’ says the Lord.

I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the work of your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith Jehovah.

I struck you— all the work of your hands— with blight, mildew, and hail, but you didn’t turn to Me”— this is the Lord’s declaration.

I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the labours of your hands; yet ye[ turned] not to me, saith the LORD.

I struck all the products of your labor with blight, disease, and hail, and yet you brought nothing to me,’ says the LORD.

I struck you with blight, mildew, and hail in all the work of your hands; yet you didn’t turn to me,’ says Yahweh.

The LORD will afflict you with wasting disease, fever, inflammation, burning heat, drought, blight, and mildew; these will pursue you until you perish.

When there is famine in the land, when there is pestilence, when there is blight or mildew, locust or grasshopper, when their enemy besieges them in the land and its cities, when there is any plague or illness,

“ You expected much, but then it amounted to little. When you brought the harvest to your house, I ruined it. Why?” This is the declaration of the LORD of Armies.“ Because my house still lies in ruins, while each of you is busy with his own house.

Two or three cities staggered to another city to drink water but were not satisfied, yet you did not return to me. This is the LORD’s declaration.I struck you with blight and mildew; the locust devoured your many gardens and vineyards, your fig trees and olive trees, yet you did not return to me. This is the LORD’s declaration.I sent plagues like those of Egypt; I killed your young men with the sword, along with your captured horses. I caused the stench of your camp to fill your nostrils, yet you did not return to me. This is the LORD’s declaration.I overthrew some of you as I overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and you were like a burning stick snatched from a fire, yet you did not return to me— This is the LORD’s declaration.

LORD, don’t your eyes look for faithfulness? You have struck them, but they felt no pain. You finished them off, but they refused to accept discipline. They made their faces harder than rock, and they refused to return.

I have summoned a drought on the fields and the hills, on the grain, new wine, fresh oil, and whatever the ground yields, on people and animals, and on all that your hands produce.”

This is what the LORD says: Stand by the roadways and look. Ask about the ancient paths,“ Which is the way to what is good?” Then take it and find rest for yourselves. But they protested,“ We won’t!”I appointed watchmen over you and said,“ Listen for the sound of the ram’s horn.” But they protested,“ We won’t listen!”

“ The LORD of Armies says this:‘ Make fair decisions. Show faithful love and compassion to one another.Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the resident alien or the poor, and do not plot evil in your hearts against one another.’But they refused to pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder; they closed their ears so they could not hear.They made their hearts like a rock so as not to obey the law or the words that the LORD of Armies had sent by his Spirit through the earlier prophets. Therefore intense anger came from the LORD of Armies.Just as he had called, and they would not listen, so when they called, I would not listen, says the LORD of Armies.

At the place where they lodged for the night, one of them opened his sack to get feed for his donkey, and he saw his silver there at the top of his bag.

The LORD has sworn with his right hand and his strong arm: I will no longer give your grain to your enemies for food, and foreigners will not drink the new wine for which you have labored.

At the time of his distress, King Ahaz himself became more unfaithful to the LORD.

Every person and animal that is in the field and not brought inside will die when the hail falls on them.”Those among Pharaoh’s officials who feared the word of the LORD made their servants and livestock flee to shelters,but those who didn’t take to heart the LORD’s word left their servants and livestock in the field.Then the LORD said to Moses,“ Stretch out your hand toward heaven and let there be hail throughout the land of Egypt— on people and animals and every plant of the field in the land of Egypt.”So Moses stretched out his staff toward heaven, and the LORD sent thunder and hail. Lightning struck the land, and the LORD rained hail on the land of Egypt.The hail, with lightning flashing through it, was so severe that nothing like it had occurred in the land of Egypt since it had become a nation.Throughout the land of Egypt, the hail struck down everything in the field, both people and animals. The hail beat down every plant of the field and shattered every tree in the field.The only place it didn’t hail was in the land of Goshen, where the Israelites were.Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron.“ I have sinned this time,” he said to them.“ The LORD is the righteous one, and I and my people are the guilty ones.Make an appeal to the LORD. There has been enough of God’s thunder and hail. I will let you go; you don’t need to stay any longer.”Moses said to him,“ When I have left the city, I will spread out my hands to the LORD. The thunder will cease, and there will be no more hail, so that you may know the earth belongs to the LORD.

Joseph was in charge of the country; he sold grain to all its people. His brothers came and bowed down before him with their faces to the ground.

Their inhabitants have become powerless, dismayed, and ashamed. They are plants of the field, tender grass, grass on the rooftops, blasted by the east wind.

Look, the Lord has a strong and mighty one— like a devastating hail storm, like a storm with strong flooding water. He will bring it across the land with his hand.

I gave you absolutely nothing to eat in all your cities, a shortage of food in all your communities, yet you did not return to me. This is the LORD’s declaration.

From the time of our youth the shameful one has consumed what our ancestors have worked for— their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.

“ You are to say to them: This is what the LORD says: Do people fall and not get up again? If they turn away, do they not return?Why have these people turned away? Why is Jerusalem always turning away? They take hold of deceit; they refuse to return.I have paid careful attention. They do not speak what is right. No one regrets his evil, asking,‘ What have I done?’ Everyone has stayed his course like a horse rushing into battle.Even storks in the sky know their seasons. Turtledoves, swallows, and cranes are aware of their migration, but my people do not know the requirements of the LORD.

The rest of the people, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands to stop worshiping demons and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood, which cannot see, hear, or walk.And they did not repent of their murders, their sorceries, their sexual immorality, or their thefts.

Foreigners consume his strength, but he does not notice. Even his hair is streaked with gray, but he does not notice.Israel’s arrogance testifies against them, yet they do not return to the LORD their God, and for all this, they do not seek him.

“ The LORD was extremely angry with your ancestors.So tell the people,‘ This is what the LORD of Armies says: Return to me— this is the declaration of the LORD of Armies— and I will return to you, says the LORD of Armies.Do not be like your ancestors; the earlier prophets proclaimed to them: This is what the LORD of Armies says: Turn from your evil ways and your evil deeds. But they did not listen or pay attention to me— this is the LORD’s declaration.

The people did not turn to him who struck them; they did not seek the LORD of Armies.

He gave their crops to the caterpillar and the fruit of their labor to the locust.

They did not realize that Joseph understood them, since there was an interpreter between them.

So he poured out his furious anger and the power of war on Jacob. It surrounded him with fire, but he did not know it; it burned him, but he didn’t take it to heart.
