The Lord who rules over all speaks. He says,“ Ask the priests what the law says.

「萬軍之耶和華如此說，你要向祭司請教律法，說：

「萬軍之耶和華說，『你去問祭司，

『萬軍之永恆主這麼說：你要向祭司問禮節的規矩說：

萬軍之耶和華云、問法律於祭司曰、

萬有之主耶和華曰、當問法於祭司曰、

萬有之主如是云、當問法於祭司、

“ This is what the Lord Almighty says:‘ Ask the priests what the law says:

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts: Ask the priests about the law:

“ This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says. Ask the priests this question about the law:

“ This is what the LORD of Armies says: Ask the priests for a ruling.

“ The Lord of armies says this:‘ Now ask the priests for a ruling:

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts:‘ Now, ask the priests concerning the law, saying,

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying,

“ This is what the Lord of Hosts says: Ask the priests for a ruling.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ask now the priests[ concerning] the law, saying,

“ The LORD who rules over all says,‘ Ask the priests about the law.

“ Yahweh of Armies says: Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying,

“ The lips of a priest should guard knowledge. After all, he is the messenger of the Lord who rules over all. And people seek instruction from his mouth.

This is so that you can tell the difference between what is holy and what is not. You must be able to tell the difference between what is‘ clean’ and what is not.Then you will be able to teach the Israelites all the rules I have given them through Moses.”

The priests must teach my people the difference between what is holy and what is not. They must show them how to tell the difference between what is‘ clean’ and what is not.“ When people do not agree, the priests must serve as judges between them. They must make their decisions based on my laws. They must obey my laws and rules for all my appointed feasts. And they must keep my Sabbath days holy.

He teaches your rules to the people of Jacob. He teaches your law to Israel. He offers incense to you. He sacrifices whole burnt offerings on your altar.

The message as it has been taught can be trusted. He must hold firmly to it. Then he will be able to use true teaching to comfort others and build them up. He will be able to prove that people who oppose it are wrong.

People will bring their cases to your courts. But some cases will be too hard for you to judge. They might be about murders, attacks or other crimes. Then take those hard cases to the place the Lord your God will choose.Go to a priest, who is a Levite. And go to the judge who is in office at that time. Ask them for their decision. They will give it to you.They’ll hand down their decisions at the place the Lord will choose. You must do what they decide. Be careful to do everything they tell you to do.Act according to whatever they teach you. Accept the decisions they give you. Don’t turn away from what they tell you. Don’t turn to the right or the left.
