你們怎麼樣？那時有人到二十斗穀堆的田地，只得了十斗；有人到酒池旁，想舀到五十窟，只舀到二十窟。

你們被咒詛所咒詛，是因為你們、你們全國的人、搶奪的乃是我！你們將當納的十分之一全部送入倉庫，使我殿中有糧吧！並這樣試試我、萬軍之永恆主說，看我會不會給你們敞開天閘，將祝福給你們傾倒下來，直到有餘無缺。萬軍之永恆主說：我必為你們叱責吞喫者蝗蟲，不容牠損壞你們土地的果實；你們田間的葡萄樹未熟之先也不掉果子。

你們向慕着多，你看，卻得的少；你們收到家裏，我給吹去。為甚麼？萬軍之永恆主發神諭說：因為我的殿荒廢，而你們各人卻逕為自己的房屋奔跑啊。

因為他們種的是風，收成的必是暴風；發生的苗成不了禾稼，也磨不出麵粉；即使磨得出，外族人也必吞喫。

你帶出到田間的種子雖多，收進來的卻少，因為蝗蟲要把它嘬盡了。你栽種修理葡萄園，卻不得收葡萄，也不得喝葡萄酒，因為蟲子要把它喫了。在你全境內、你必有橄欖樹，卻沒有油抹身，因為你的橄欖都未熟就脫落了。

他們喫，也喫不飽；他們行淫，卻不能得滿意；因為他們離棄了永恆主去躭於行淫。

田野毁壞，土地悲哀；因為五穀毁壞，新酒池令人失望，新油衰萎不繼。耕地的人很失望，修理葡萄園的哀號着，為了大麥小麥而悲哀；因為田間的莊稼都壞掉了。葡萄樹令人失望，無花果樹衰萎凋殘；石榴樹、及棕樹、蘋果樹、田野所有的樹木都枯乾了：唉，歡躍之樂也令人失望而不在人間了。祭司啊，腰束麻布而慟哭吧！伺候祭壇的啊，哀號哦！伺候我的上帝的啊，披着麻布進殿去過夜吧！因為素祭和奠祭都從你們的上帝殿中停止了。

你要喫，卻喫不飽；你的虛空感覺必老在你腹中。你必挪去，卻不能帶到穩當之地；你所帶到穩當之地的，我必交給刀劍。你必撒種，卻得不到收割；你必踹橄欖，卻得不到油抹身；你必踹葡萄汁，卻得不到酒喝。

永恆主發神諭說：我必使這書卷出去，進入偷竊之人的家、和奉我名起假誓之人的家；這書卷必留在他家中去消滅它，連木料帶石頭都滅盡。』

你們若不聽，若不放在心上、不將榮耀歸與我的名，萬軍之永恆主說，我就降咒詛於你們中間；我必咒詛你們的福分；事實上、因你們不放在心上，我已經給以咒詛了。

因為那些日子以前、人的工價都得不着，牲口的工價也沒有；並且因有敵人的緣故、出入也不安全；因為我使眾人都互相攻擊。

她說：『我指着永恆主你的永活上帝來起誓：我沒有餅，只有罈內一把麵粉，罐裏一點兒油；你看，我正在撿撿兩根柴，去為自己和兒子作餅；喫了來死，算了。』

當大衛在位的日子鬧饑荒，一年過一年、共三年；大衛就尋求朝見永恆主。永恆主說：『掃羅和他的家有殺人流血的罪，因為他殺死了基遍人。』

他滿足有餘時、反而困苦；凡受苦楚的人、都要下手批擊他。

自從我們停止了向天后燻祭、澆奠祭，我們倒缺乏了一切，又因刀劍饑荒而滅絕了。』

我要折斷你們糧食的支杖；那時必有十個女人只在一個手提爐子給你們烤餅，又按分量將餅交回你們；你們要喫，也喫不飽。

他家的土產都輥走，當上帝發怒的日子都被倒出。

你們必白白用盡力氣，你們的地也不出土產，地上的樹木也不結果子。

十畝葡萄園、只出一罷特酒；一賀梅珥穀種、只結一伊法糧食。』

他又對我說：『人子啊，看吧，我必折斷耶路撒冷中糧食的支杖；他們喫飯要按分兩、懷着掛慮的心情喫；他們喝水也要按分量驚慌慌地喝。我要這樣作，是要使他們缺乏糧食和水而彼此驚駭，在他們自己的罪罰中而消削淨盡。

『然而是我使你們在各城牙齒乾淨、無物可嚼，使你們在各處糧食缺乏；你們仍不回來歸我』：永恆主發神諭說。『也是我在收割前還有三個月使雨停止不降在你們那裏；我降雨在一個城，不降雨在另一個城；這一塊地有雨，那一塊地無雨，就枯乾了。這樣、兩三個城的人就搖搖晃晃走到一個城去找水喝，也不得滿足；你們仍不回來歸我』：永恆主發神諭說。『我用旱風霉爛擊打你們，使你們的菜園和葡萄園荒廢；你們的無花果樹和橄欖樹都給剪蟲喫了，你們仍不回來歸我』：永恆主發神諭說。

他使多結果實之地變為鹹地；都因其間居民的邪惡。

耕種土地的驚慌失措，因為沒有霖雨在地上；耕地的人都失望，抱頭蒙羞。
