那時，撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯和約撒答的兒子大祭司約書亞，並剩下的百姓，都聽從耶和華－他們神的話和先知哈該奉耶和華－他們神差來所說的話；百姓也在耶和華面前存敬畏的心。

王該知道，我們往猶大省去，到了至大神的殿，這殿是用大石建造的。樑木插入牆內，工作甚速，他們手下亨通。

所以，我親愛的弟兄們，你們務要堅固，不可搖動，常常竭力多做主工；因為知道，你們的勞苦在主裏面不是徒然的。

以斯拉說：「耶和華－我們列祖的神是應當稱頌的！因他使王起這心意修飾耶路撒冷耶和華的殿，又在王和謀士，並大能的軍長面前施恩於我。因耶和華－我神的手幫助我，我就得以堅強，從以色列中招聚首領，與我一同上來。」

於是，猶大和便雅憫的族長、祭司、利未人，就是一切被神激動他心的人，都起來要上耶路撒冷去建造耶和華的殿。

故此，以色列的神激動亞述王普勒和亞述王提革拉‧毗列色的心，他們就把呂便人、迦得人、瑪拿西半支派的人擄到哈臘、哈博、哈拉與歌散河邊，直到今日還在那裏。

當你掌權的日子，你的民要以聖潔的妝飾為衣，甘心犧牲自己；你的民多如清晨的甘露。

在各樣善事上成全你們，叫你們遵行他的旨意；又藉着耶穌基督在你們心裏行他所喜悅的事。願榮耀歸給他，直到永永遠遠。阿們！

恩賜原有分別，聖靈卻是一位。職事也有分別，主卻是一位。功用也有分別，神卻是一位，在眾人裏面運行一切的事。聖靈顯在各人身上，是叫人得益處。這人蒙聖靈賜他智慧的言語，那人也蒙這位聖靈賜他知識的言語，又有一人蒙這位聖靈賜他信心，還有一人蒙這位聖靈賜他醫病的恩賜，又叫一人能行異能，又叫一人能作先知，又叫一人能辨別諸靈，又叫一人能說方言，又叫一人能翻方言。這一切都是這位聖靈所運行、隨己意分給各人的。

多謝神，感動提多的心，叫他待你們殷勤，像我一樣。

這樣看來，我親愛的弟兄，你們既是常順服的，不但我在你們那裏，就是我如今不在你們那裏，更是順服的，就當恐懼戰兢做成你們得救的工夫。因為你們立志行事都是神在你們心裏運行，為要成就他的美意。
