So the LORD energized and encouraged Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, the high priest Joshua son of Jehozadak, and the whole remnant of the people. They came and worked on the temple of their God, the LORD who rules over all.

大流士王第二年六月初一日，耶和华的话藉先知哈该向犹大省长撒拉铁的儿子所罗巴伯和约撒答的儿子大祭司约书亚说：

于是撒拉铁的儿子所罗巴伯和约萨达的儿子耶书亚都起来动手建造耶路撒冷神的殿，有神的先知在那里帮助他们。

波斯王居鲁士元年，耶和华为要应验藉耶利米口所说的话，就激动波斯王居鲁士的心，使他下诏通告全国，说：

“你要告诉犹大省长所罗巴伯说：我必震动天地。

这样，我们修造城墙，城墙就都连络，高至一半，因为百姓专心做工。

“你要晓谕犹大省长撒拉铁的儿子所罗巴伯和约撒答的儿子大祭司约书亚，并剩下的百姓，说：

那时，撒拉铁的儿子所罗巴伯和约撒答的儿子大祭司约书亚，并剩下的百姓，都听从耶和华他们神的话和先知哈该奉耶和华他们神差来所说的话；百姓也在耶和华面前存敬畏的心。

王该知道，我们往犹大省去，到了至大神的殿，这殿是用大石建造的。梁木插入墙内，工作甚速，他们手下亨通。

所以，我亲爱的弟兄们，你们务要坚固，不可摇动，常常竭力多做主工；因为知道，你们的劳苦在主里面不是徒然的。

以斯拉说：“耶和华我们列祖的神是应当称颂的！因他使王起这心意修饰耶路撒冷耶和华的殿，又在王和谋士，并大能的军长面前施恩于我。因耶和华我神的手帮助我，我就得以坚强，从以色列中招聚首领，与我一同上来。”

于是，犹大和便雅悯的族长、祭司、利未人，就是一切被神激动他心的人，都起来要上耶路撒冷去建造耶和华的殿。

故此，以色列的神激动亚述王普勒和亚述王提革拉毗列色的心，他们就把流便人、迦得人、玛拿西半支派的人掳到哈腊、哈博、哈拉与歌散河边，直到今日还在那里。

当你掌权的日子，你的民要以圣洁的妆饰为衣，甘心牺牲自己；你的民多如清晨的甘露。

在各样善事上成全你们，叫你们遵行他的旨意；又藉着耶稣基督在你们心里行他所喜悦的事。愿荣耀归给他，直到永永远远。阿们！

恩赐原有分别，圣灵却是一位。职事也有分别，主却是一位。功用也有分别，神却是一位，在众人里面运行一切的事。圣灵显在各人身上，是叫人得益处。这人蒙圣灵赐他智慧的言语，那人也蒙这位圣灵赐他知识的言语，又有一人蒙这位圣灵赐他信心，还有一人蒙这位圣灵赐他医病的恩赐，又叫一人能行异能，又叫一人能作先知，又叫一人能辨别诸灵，又叫一人能说方言，又叫一人能翻方言。这一切都是这位圣灵所运行、随己意分给各人的。

多谢神，感动提多的心，叫他待你们殷勤，像我一样。

这样看来，我亲爱的弟兄，你们既是常顺服的，不但我在你们那里，就是我如今不在你们那里，更是顺服的，就当恐惧战兢做成你们得救的工夫。因为你们立志行事都是神在你们心里运行，为要成就他的美意。
