In the second year of King Darius, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of the Lord came through the prophet Haggai to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest:

A message from the Lord came to Haggai the prophet. Haggai gave it to Zerubbabel and Joshua. Zerubbabel was governor of Judah and the son of Shealtiel. Joshua was high priest and the son of Jozadak. The message came on the first day of the sixth month of the second year that Darius was king of Persia. Here is what Haggai said.

In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came by the hand of Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest:

On August 29 of the second year of King Darius’s reign, the Lord gave a message through the prophet Haggai to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Jeshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest.

大利烏二年九月二十四日、耶和華藉先知哈該諭曰、

約薩達子耶書亞、及其昆弟為祭司者、暨撒拉鐵子所羅巴伯、與其昆弟、咸起、而築以色列上帝之壇、欲獻燔祭於上、循上帝僕摩西之律所載、

至耶路撒冷、詣上帝室之二年二月、撒拉鐵子所羅巴伯、約薩達子耶書亞、及其餘昆弟祭司利未人、與自俘囚而歸耶路撒冷之眾、肇造耶和華室、立利未人二十歲以上者、督其工作、

毘大雅子所羅巴伯、示每、所羅巴伯子米書蘭、哈拿尼雅、示羅密為女弟、

耶哥尼雅被虜、其子撒拉鐵、

撒拉鐵子所羅巴伯、約撒答子大祭司約書亞、與諸遺民、遂遵其上帝耶和華之命、及先知哈該奉其上帝耶和華遣、所傳之言、民眾乃寅畏耶和華、

耶和華感撒拉鐵子猶大方伯所羅巴伯、與約撒答子大祭司約書亞、及諸遺民之心、遂咸至、興工於其上帝萬軍耶和華之室、

猶大長老、因先知哈該、及易多孫撒迦利雅之預言、建造順遂、遵以色列上帝之命、及古列、大利烏、與波斯王亞達薛西之諭、完竣厥工、

乃與所羅巴伯、耶書亞、尼希米、亞撒利雅、拉米、拿哈瑪尼、末底改、必珊、米斯毘列、比革瓦伊、尼宏、巴拿偕來、其數列左、

耶和華曰、所羅巴伯歟、其強乃心、約撒答子大祭司約書亞歟、其強乃心、耶和華又曰、斯土眾民歟、其強乃心、興工操作、蓋我偕爾、萬軍之耶和華言之矣、

從撒拉鐵子所羅巴伯、及耶書亞、而歸之祭司利未人、有西萊雅、耶利米、以斯拉、

耶羅波安恢復以色列之境、自哈馬道、至亞拉巴海、如以色列之上帝耶和華藉其僕、迦特希弗人亞米太子先知約拿所言、

亞撒利亞生西萊亞、西萊亞生約薩答、耶和華藉尼布甲尼撒手、徙猶大及耶路撒冷人時、約薩答亦往焉、○

則詣所羅巴伯與族長、謂之曰、請許我與爾同建、蓋我尋求爾之上帝、如爾曹然、自亞述王以撒哈頓攜我來時、以迄於今、與之獻祭、

自我被立為猶大方伯、於亞達薛西王二十年、至三十二年、共十二年、我與同宗、未食方伯之祿、

彼曰、此乃耶和華諭所羅巴伯之言曰、非以權勢、非以能力、乃藉我神、萬軍之耶和華言之矣、大山歟、爾為何、於所羅巴伯前、將成平壤、彼必出頂石而置之、有聲呼曰、恩寵、恩寵歸之、耶和華復諭我曰、所羅巴伯之手、既奠此室之基、其手亦必竣厥工、如是、爾則知萬軍之耶和華遣我就爾、誰藐視其日、以為細故乎、耶和華之七目、遍察全地、必喜見所羅巴伯手執準繩也、

是月二十四日、耶和華復諭哈該曰、告猶大方伯所羅巴伯云、我必震動天地、傾列邦之座位、滅萬民諸國之勢力、覆其車與駕之者、馬與乘之者、俱仆於昆弟之刃、萬軍之耶和華曰、我僕撒拉鐵子所羅巴伯歟、我已簡爾、是日我必視爾為印、萬軍之耶和華言之矣、大利烏二年八月、耶和華諭易多孫、比利家子、先知撒迦利亞曰、

以色列眾葬之、為之哀悼、如耶和華藉其僕先知亞希雅所言、

其上為約亞拿、其上為利撒、其上為所羅巴伯、其上為撒拉鐵、其上為尼利、

於是耶路撒冷建上帝室之工乃止、迄於波斯王大利烏二年、先知哈該、與易多孫撒迦利亞奉以色列上帝之名、傳預言於猶大及耶路撒冷之猶大人、於是撒拉鐵子所羅巴伯、約薩達子耶書亞、咸起、肇建耶路撒冷上帝之室、上帝之先知偕而助之、時、河西方伯達乃、及示他波斯乃、與其同儕至曰、建此室、成此垣、誰頒斯諭、

七月二十一日、耶和華藉先知哈該諭曰、爾其告撒拉鐵子猶大方伯所羅巴伯、約撒答子大祭司約書亞、及諸遺民曰、

民聞律詞、咸哭、方伯尼希米、文士祭司以斯拉、與訓民之利未人、告之曰、今乃爾上帝耶和華之聖日、毋悲毋哭、

方伯曰、至聖之物、彼不可食、迨至有烏陵土明之祭司起、

耶書亞生約雅金、約雅金生以利亞實、以利亞實生耶何耶大、

今波斯王古列、藉司庫米提利達攜出、核之、付於猶大牧伯設巴薩、
