Joshua utterly destroyed them with their cities.There were no Anakim left in the land of the sons of Israel; only in Gaza, Gath, and Ashdod some remained.So Joshua took the whole land, in accordance with everything that the Lord had spoken to Moses; and Joshua gave it as an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. So the land was at rest from war.

You will bring them and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, The place, Lord, which You have made as Your dwelling, The sanctuary, Lord, which Your hands have established.

But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting for those who fear Him, And His justice to the children’s children,

On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west forming a very large valley. This shall be your northern border.‘ For your eastern border you shall also draw a boundary from Hazar enan to Shepham,and the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain; and the border shall go down and reach to the slope on the east side of the Sea of Chinnereth.And the border shall go down to the Jordan, and its termination shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land according to its borders on all sides.’ ”So Moses commanded the sons of Israel, saying,“ This is the land that you are to possess by lot, which the Lord has commanded to give to the nine and a half tribes.For the tribe of the sons of Reuben have received theirs according to their fathers’ households, and the tribe of the sons of Gad according to their fathers’ households, and the half tribe of Manasseh have received their possession.The two and a half tribes have received their possession across the Jordan opposite Jericho, eastward toward the sunrise.”Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,“ These are the names of the men who shall assign the land to you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun.And you shall take one leader of each tribe to assign the land as an inheritance.These are the names of the men: of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.Of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Samuel the son of Ammihud.Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon.And of the tribe of the sons of Dan, a leader, Bukki the son of Jogli.Of the sons of Joseph: of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, a leader, Hanniel the son of Ephod.Of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, a leader, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan.Of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, a leader, Elizaphan the son of Parnach.Of the tribe of the sons of Issachar, a leader, Paltiel the son of Azzan.Of the tribe of the sons of Asher, a leader, Ahihud the son of Shelomi.Of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, a leader, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.”These are the ones whom the Lord commanded to apportion the inheritance to the sons of Israel in the land of Canaan.

Raise your eyes to the sky, Then look to the earth beneath; For the sky will vanish like smoke, And the earth will wear out like a garment And its inhabitants will die in the same way. But My salvation will be forever, And My righteousness will not fail.

Oh, that You would tear open the heavens and come down, That the mountains would quake at Your presence—As fire kindles brushwood, as fire causes water to boil— To make Your name known to Your adversaries, That the nations may tremble at Your presence!When You did awesome things which we did not expect, You came down, the mountains quaked at Your presence.

When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, When He separated the sons of mankind, He set the boundaries of the peoples According to the number of the sons of Israel.

You also gave them kingdoms and peoples, And allotted them to them as a boundary. They took possession of the land of Sihon the king of Heshbon And the land of Og the king of Bashan.You made their sons as numerous as the stars of heaven, And You brought them into the land Which You had told their fathers to enter and possess.So their sons entered and took possession of the land. And You subdued before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, And You handed them over to them, with their kings and the peoples of the land, To do with them as they desired.

For the moth will eat them like a garment; Yes, the moth will eat them like wool. But My righteousness will be forever, And My salvation to all generations.”
