看哪，这不都是出于万军之耶和华吗？万民劳碌得来的被火焚烧，万族辛苦建造的，归于虚空。

众民所劳碌得来的被火焚烧，列国由劳乏而得的归于虚空，不都是出于万军之耶和华吗？

看哪，这不都是出于万军之耶和华吗？万民劳碌得来的被火焚烧，万族辛苦建造的，归于虚空。

列邦的财富都化为灰烬，列国劳碌却是一场空。这不都是出于万军之耶和华吗？

众民劳碌得来的，被火焚烧；列国辛劳而得的，终归无有。这不都出于万军之耶和华吗？

眾民所勞碌得來的被火焚燒，列國由勞乏而得的歸於虛空，不都是出於萬軍之耶和華嗎？

看哪，這不都是出於萬軍之耶和華嗎？萬民勞碌得來的被火焚燒，萬族辛苦建造的，歸於虛空。

看哪，這不都是出於萬軍之耶和華嗎？萬民勞碌得來的被火焚燒，萬族辛苦建造的，歸於虛空。

列邦的財富都化為灰燼，列國勞碌卻是一場空。這不都是出於萬軍之耶和華嗎？

眾民勞碌得來的，被火焚燒；列國辛勞而得的，終歸無有。這不都出於萬軍之耶和華嗎？

看哪，萬族之民只為了給火焚燒而勞碌，列國之民只為了虛空而疲乏，不都是出於萬軍之永恆主麼？

諸民勞力乃為火、列邦辛苦歸於虛、此非由於萬軍之耶和華乎、

爾使列邦之民、屬役良苦、竭力築城、萬有之主耶和華、必使之焚燬殆盡、歸於烏有、

眾民辛苦經營、悉為火所焚、萬族劬勞疲憊、俱屬徒然、皆萬有之主所命、

Has not the Lord Almighty determined that the people’s labor is only fuel for the fire, that the nations exhaust themselves for nothing?

I am the Lord who rules over all. Human effort is no better than wood that feeds a fire. So the nations wear themselves out for nothing.

Behold, is it not from the Lord of hosts that peoples labor merely for fire, and nations weary themselves for nothing?

Has not the Lord of Heaven’s Armies promised that the wealth of nations will turn to ashes? They work so hard, but all in vain!

Is it not from the LORD of Armies that the peoples labor only to fuel the fire and countries exhaust themselves for nothing?

Is it not indeed from the Lord of armies That peoples labor merely for fire, And nations become weary for nothing?

Behold, is it not of the Lord of hosts That the peoples labor to feed the fire, And nations weary themselves in vain?

Behold, is it not of Jehovah of hosts that the peoples labor for the fire, and the nations weary themselves for vanity?

Is it not from the Lord of Hosts that the peoples labor only to fuel the fire and countries exhaust themselves for nothing?

Behold,[ is it] not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity?

Be sure of this! The LORD who commands armies has decreed: The nations’ efforts will go up in smoke; their exhausting work will be for nothing.

Behold, isn’t it of Yahweh of Armies that the peoples labor for the fire, and the nations weary themselves for vanity?

万军之耶和华如此说：巴比伦宽阔的城墙要夷为平地，它高大的城门必被火焚烧。万民所劳碌的必致虚空，万族所劳碌的被火焚烧，他们都必困乏。

看哪，你们当中所有点火、以火把围绕自己的人，当行走在你们的火焰里，并你们所点的火把中。这是我亲手为你们定的：你们必躺卧在悲惨之中。

没有人能以智慧、聪明、谋略抵挡耶和华。

他使有智慧的人中了自己的诡计，叫狡诈人的计谋速速落空。他们白昼遇见黑暗，午间摸索如在夜间。

耶和华说：“看哪，他们成了同一个民族，都有一样的语言。这只是他们开始做的事，现在他们想要做的任何事，就没有什么可拦阻他们了。来，我们下去，在那里变乱他们的语言，使他们彼此语言不通。”于是耶和华使他们从那里分散在全地面上；他们就停止建造那城了。因为耶和华在那里变乱了全地的语言，把人从那里分散在全地面上，所以那城名叫巴别。

若不是耶和华建造房屋，建造的人就枉然劳力；若不是耶和华看守城池，看守的人就枉然警醒。你们清晨早起，夜晚安歇，吃劳碌得来的饭，本是枉然；惟有耶和华所亲爱的，必叫他安然睡觉。

以东若说：“我们虽被毁坏，却要重建荒废之处。”万军之耶和华如此说：“任他们建造，我必拆毁；人必称他们为‘邪恶之境’，为‘耶和华永远恼怒之民’。”

你们为何花钱买那不是食物的东西，用劳碌得来的买那无法使人饱足的呢？你们要留意听从我的话，就能吃那美物，得享肥甘，心中喜乐。

众海岛看见就都害怕，地极也都战兢，他们近前来；各人互相帮助，对弟兄说：“壮胆吧！”木匠鼓励银匠，用锤子打光的鼓励打砧的，对焊工说：“焊得好！”又用钉子钉稳，免得它倒下。惟你以色列，我的仆人，雅各，我所拣选的，我朋友亚伯拉罕的后裔，

世人行动实系幻影，他们忙乱，真是枉然，积蓄财宝，不知将来有谁收取。

有人告诉大卫说：“亚希多弗也在叛党之中，随从押沙龙。”大卫说：“耶和华啊，求你使亚希多弗的计谋变为愚拙！”

说：‘巴比伦因耶和华所要降与它的灾祸，必如此沉下去，不再浮起来，百姓也必困乏。’”耶利米的话到此为止。
