Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for[ I] will work a work in your days,[ which] ye will not believe, though it be told[ you].

耶和華曰、試觀異邦人、殊可駭異、當爾之時、吾將有所為、雖有人告爾、爾亦不信、

主曰、爾曹當觀於異邦中、必甚駭異、當爾之時、我將行一事、雖有人告爾、爾亦不信、

“ Look at the nations and watch— and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.

The Lord replies,“ Look at the nations. Watch them. Be totally amazed at what you see. I am going to do something in your days that you would never believe. You would not believe it even if someone told you about it.

“ Look among the nations, and see; wonder and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told.

The Lord replied,“ Look around at the nations; look and be amazed! For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t believe even if someone told you about it.

Look at the nations and observe— be utterly astounded! For I am doing something in your days that you will not believe when you hear about it.

“ Look among the nations! Watch! Be horrified! Be frightened speechless! For I am accomplishing a work in your days— You would not believe it even if you were told!

“ Look among the nations and watch— Be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days Which you would not believe, though it were told you.

Behold ye among the nations, and look, and wonder marvellously; for I am working a work in your days, which ye will not believe though it be told you.

Look at the nations and observe— be utterly astounded! For something is taking place in your days that you will not believe when you hear about it.

“ Look at the nations and pay attention! You will be shocked and amazed! For I will do something in your lifetime that you will not believe even though you are forewarned.

“ Look among the nations, watch, and wonder marvelously; for I am working a work in your days, which you will not believe though it is told you.

Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.

Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people,[ even] a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise[ men] shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent[ men] shall be hid.

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will punish all[ them which are] circumcised with the uncircumcised;Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all[ that are] in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all[ these] nations[ are] uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel[ are] uncircumcised in the heart.

They have belied the LORD, and said,[ It is] not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:And the prophets shall become wind, and the word[ is] not in them: thus shall it be done unto them.

Son of man, what[ is] that proverb[ that] ye have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision faileth?Tell them therefore, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel; but say unto them, The days are at hand, and the effect of every vision.For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.For I[ am] the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord GOD.Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,Son of man, behold,[ they of] the house of Israel say, The vision that he seeth[ is] for many days[ to come], and he prophesieth of the times[ that are] far off.Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.

The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.

And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.

I will utterly consume all[ things] from off the land, saith the LORD.

Then said they, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.

And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.

For the LORD shall rise up as[ in] mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as[ in] the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.

For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.Then took I the cup at the LORD’S hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:[ To wit], Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as[ it is] this day;Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;And all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon,And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which[ are] beyond the sea,Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all[ that are] in the utmost corners,And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert,And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which[ are] upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.

And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.

Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.
