Look at the nations and observe— be utterly astounded! For I am doing something in your days that you will not believe when you hear about it.

詭詐不忠的人哪，看又察看哦！驚訝而駭愕哦！因為當你們的日子、我要行一件事，就是敘說出來，你們也總不信的。

耶和華曰、試觀異邦人、殊可駭異、當爾之時、吾將有所為、雖有人告爾、爾亦不信、

主曰、爾曹當觀於異邦中、必甚駭異、當爾之時、我將行一事、雖有人告爾、爾亦不信、

“ Look at the nations and watch— and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.

The Lord replies,“ Look at the nations. Watch them. Be totally amazed at what you see. I am going to do something in your days that you would never believe. You would not believe it even if someone told you about it.

“ Look among the nations, and see; wonder and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told.

The Lord replied,“ Look around at the nations; look and be amazed! For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t believe even if someone told you about it.

“ Look among the nations! Watch! Be horrified! Be frightened speechless! For I am accomplishing a work in your days— You would not believe it even if you were told!

“ Look among the nations and watch— Be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days Which you would not believe, though it were told you.

Behold ye among the nations, and look, and wonder marvellously; for I am working a work in your days, which ye will not believe though it be told you.

Look at the nations and observe— be utterly astounded! For something is taking place in your days that you will not believe when you hear about it.

Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for[ I] will work a work in your days,[ which] ye will not believe, though it be told[ you].

“ Look at the nations and pay attention! You will be shocked and amazed! For I will do something in your lifetime that you will not believe even though you are forewarned.

“ Look among the nations, watch, and wonder marvelously; for I am working a work in your days, which you will not believe though it is told you.

So beware that what is said in the prophets does not happen to you:Look, you scoffers, marvel and vanish away, because I am doing a work in your days, a work that you will never believe, even if someone were to explain it to you.”

Therefore, I will again confound these people with wonder after wonder. The wisdom of their wise will vanish, and the perception of their perceptive will be hidden.

“‘ Look, the days are coming— this is the LORD’s declaration— when I will punish all the circumcised yet uncircumcised:Egypt, Judah, Edom, the Ammonites, Moab, and all the inhabitants of the desert who clip the hair on their temples. All these nations are uncircumcised, and the whole house of Israel is uncircumcised in heart.’”

They have contradicted the LORD and insisted,“ It won’t happen. Harm won’t come to us; we won’t see sword or famine.”The prophets become only wind, for the LORD’s word is not in them. This will in fact happen to them.

“ Son of man, what is this proverb you people have about the land of Israel, which goes,‘ The days keep passing by, and every vision fails’?Therefore say to them,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: I will put a stop to this proverb, and they will not use it again in Israel.’ But say to them,‘ The days have arrived, as well as the fulfillment of every vision.For there will no longer be any false vision or flattering divination within the house of Israel.But I, the LORD, will speak whatever message I will speak, and it will be done. It will no longer be delayed. For in your days, rebellious house, I will speak a message and bring it to pass. This is the declaration of the Lord GOD.’”The word of the LORD came to me:“ Son of man, notice that the house of Israel is saying,‘ The vision that he sees concerns many years from now; he prophesies about distant times.’Therefore say to them,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: None of my words will be delayed any longer. The message I speak will be fulfilled. This is the declaration of the Lord GOD.’”

The kings of the earth and all the world’s inhabitants did not believe that an enemy or adversary could enter Jerusalem’s gates.

He has carried out his words that he spoke against us and against our rulers by bringing on us a disaster that is so great that nothing like what has been done to Jerusalem has ever been done under all of heaven.

I will completely sweep away everything from the face of the earth— this is the LORD’s declaration.

Then certain ones said,“ Come, let’s make plans against Jeremiah, for instruction will never be lost from the priest, or counsel from the wise, or a word from the prophet. Come, let’s denounce him and pay no attention to all his words.”

They also presented false witnesses who said,“ This man never stops speaking against this holy place and the law.For we heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs that Moses handed down to us.”

For the LORD will rise up as he did at Mount Perazim. He will rise in wrath, as at the Valley of Gibeon, to do his work, his unexpected work, and to perform his task, his unfamiliar task.So now, do not scoff, or your shackles will become stronger. Indeed, I have heard from the Lord GOD of Armies a decree of destruction for the whole land.

For many nations and great kings will enslave them, and I will repay them according to their deeds and the work of their hands.’”This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, said to me:“ Take this cup of the wine of wrath from my hand and make all the nations to whom I am sending you drink from it.They will drink, stagger, and go out of their minds because of the sword I am sending among them.”So I took the cup from the LORD’s hand and made all the nations to whom the LORD sent me drink from it.Jerusalem and the other cities of Judah, its kings and its officials, to make them a desolate ruin, an example for scorn and cursing— as it is today;Pharaoh king of Egypt, his officers, his leaders, all his people,and all the mixed peoples; all the kings of the land of Uz; all the kings of the land of the Philistines— Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;Edom, Moab, and the Ammonites;all the kings of Tyre, all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the coasts and islands;Dedan, Tema, Buz, and all those who clip the hair on their temples;all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mixed peoples who have settled in the desert;all the kings of Zimri, all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of Media;all the kings of the north, both near and far from one another; that is, all the kingdoms of the world throughout the earth. Finally, the king of Sheshak will drink after them.“ Then you are to say to them,‘ This is what the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: Drink, get drunk, and vomit. Fall down and never get up again, as a result of the sword I am sending among you.’If they refuse to accept the cup from your hand and drink, you are to say to them,‘ This is what the LORD of Armies says: You must drink!For I am already bringing disaster on the city that bears my name, so how could you possibly go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am summoning a sword against all the inhabitants of the earth. This is the declaration of the LORD of Armies.’

The LORD will scatter you among the peoples, and you will be reduced to a few survivors among the nations where the LORD your God will drive you.

Stop and be astonished; blind yourselves and be blind! They are drunk, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with beer.
