胡為使我見奸惡、爾奚觀橫逆乎、殘賊強暴、在於我前、怨隙爭鬥、紛然並起、

民自相爭、虐遇攘奪、至於召禍、爾何使我目睹乎、

何為使我目睹不義、人行惡作慝、人行惡作慝或作人行奸惡主何為徒觀、攘奪與兇暴恆於我前、怨隙滋生、爭端紛起、

Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrongdoing? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds.

Why do you make me watch while people treat others so unfairly? Why do you put up with the wrong things they are doing? I have to look at death. People are harming others. They are arguing and fighting all the time.

Why do you make me see iniquity, and why do you idly look at wrong? Destruction and violence are before me; strife and contention arise.

Must I forever see these evil deeds? Why must I watch all this misery? Wherever I look, I see destruction and violence. I am surrounded by people who love to argue and fight.

Why do you force me to look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrongdoing? Oppression and violence are right in front of me. Strife is ongoing, and conflict escalates.

Why do You make me see disaster, And make me look at destitution? Yes, devastation and violence are before me; Strife exists and contention arises.

Why do You show me iniquity, And cause me to see trouble? For plundering and violence are before me; There is strife, and contention arises.

Why dost thou show me iniquity, and look upon perverseness? for destruction and violence are before me; and there is strife, and contention riseth up.

Why do You force me to look at injustice? Why do You tolerate wrongdoing? Oppression and violence are right in front of me. Strife is ongoing, and conflict escalates.

Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause[ me] to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence[ are] before me: and there are[ that] raise up strife and contention.

Why do you force me to witness injustice? Why do you put up with wrongdoing? Destruction and violence confront me; conflict is present and one must endure strife.

Why do you show me iniquity, and look at perversity? For destruction and violence are before me. There is strife, and contention rises up.

主啊，求你吞滅他們，變亂他們的舌頭！因為我在城中見了強暴爭競的事。他們在城牆上晝夜繞行；在城內也有罪孽和奸惡。邪惡在其中；欺壓和詭詐不離街市。

哀哉！我好像夏天的果子已被收盡，又像摘了葡萄所剩下的，沒有一掛可吃的；我心羨慕初熟的無花果。地上虔誠人滅盡；世間沒有正直人；各人埋伏，要殺人流血，都用網羅獵取弟兄。他們雙手作惡；君王徇情面，審判官要賄賂；位分大的吐出惡意，都彼此結聯行惡。他們最好的，不過是蒺藜；最正直的，不過是荊棘籬笆。你守望者說，降罰的日子已經來到。他們必擾亂不安。

我每逢講論的時候，就發出哀聲，我喊叫說：有強暴和毀滅！因為耶和華的話終日成了我的凌辱、譏刺。

惟願我在曠野有行路人住宿之處，使我可以離開我的民出去；因他們都是行姦淫的，是行詭詐的一黨。他們彎起舌頭像弓一樣，為要說謊話。他們在國中增長勢力，不是為行誠實，乃是惡上加惡，並不認識我。這是耶和華說的。你們各人當謹防鄰舍，不可信靠弟兄；因為弟兄盡行欺騙，鄰舍都往來讒謗人。他們各人欺哄鄰舍，不說真話；他們教舌頭學習說謊，勞勞碌碌地作孽。你的住處在詭詐的人中；他們因行詭詐，不肯認識我。這是耶和華說的。

你若在一省之中見窮人受欺壓，並奪去公義公平的事，不要因此詫異；因有一位高過居高位的鑒察，在他們以上還有更高的。

因為那義人住在他們中間，看見聽見他們不法的事，他的義心就天天傷痛。）

耶和華啊，求你幫助，因虔誠人斷絕了；世人中間的忠信人沒有了。人人向鄰舍說謊；他們說話，是嘴唇油滑，心口不一。

我寄居在米設，住在基達帳棚之中，有禍了！我與那恨惡和睦的人許久同住。

「我差你們去，如同羊進入狼羣；所以你們要靈巧像蛇，馴良像鴿子。

我見惡人和狂傲人享平安就心懷不平。他們死的時候沒有疼痛；他們的力氣卻也壯實。他們不像別人受苦，也不像別人遭災。所以，驕傲如鏈子戴在他們的項上；強暴像衣裳遮住他們的身體。他們的眼睛因體胖而凸出；他們所得的，過於心裏所想的。他們譏笑人，憑惡意說欺壓人的話；他們說話自高。他們的口褻瀆上天；他們的舌毀謗全地。

我又轉念，見日光之下所行的一切欺壓。看哪，受欺壓的流淚，且無人安慰；欺壓他們的有勢力，也無人安慰他們。

人子啊，雖有荊棘和蒺藜在你那裏，你又住在蠍子中間，總不要怕他們，也不要怕他們的話；他們雖是悖逆之家，還不要怕他們的話，也不要因他們的臉色驚惶。
