耶稣说：“在船的右边下网就会打到鱼。”于是他们照着祂的话把网撒下去，网到的鱼多到连网都拉不动。耶稣所爱的那个门徒对彼得说：“是主！”那时西门·彼得赤着身子，一听见是主，立刻束上外衣，跳进海里。其他门徒离岸不远，约有一百米，他们随后用船把那一网鱼拖到岸边。他们上岸后，看见有一堆炭火，上面有鱼和饼。耶稣说：“拿几条刚打的鱼来。”西门·彼得就上船把网拉上岸。网里一共有一百五十三条大鱼！虽然鱼这么多，网却没有破。

“主耶和华说，‘你们看到以色列的灾祸，便幸灾乐祸，手舞足蹈。

但我要钩住你的腮，使河中的鱼贴在你的鳞甲上，把你连同贴在你鳞甲上的鱼一起从河中拉上来，丢弃在旷野。你必暴尸野外，无人收殓。我要让你成为野兽和飞鸟的食物。

“抢夺我产业的巴比伦人啊，你们欢喜快乐，像草场上欢跳的母牛犊，又像嘶鸣的公马。

所有在尼罗河下钩的渔夫都哀哭悲伤，在河上撒网的人都伤痛。

西门说：“老师，我们劳碌了一整夜，一无所获，但既然你这样吩咐，我就照你的话做。”他们把网撒下去，果然捕获很多鱼，差点把网撑破了，于是招呼另一条船上的同伴来帮忙。他们一起把两条船都装满了鱼，船几乎要沉下去了。西门·彼得见状，便跪倒在耶稣膝前说：“主啊，离开我，我是个罪人！”他和所有同伴们对捕到这么多鱼感到非常惊讶，包括西庇太的两个儿子雅各和约翰。耶稣对西门说：“不要怕，从今以后，你将成为得人的渔夫。”

你既因以色列的荒凉而幸灾乐祸，我要让你遭受同样的下场。西珥山啊，你和以东都要荒凉。这样，你们就知道我是耶和华。’

地上万民便兴高采烈，互相送礼道贺，因为这两位先知曾使地上的人受苦。

“人子啊，泰尔讥笑耶路撒冷说，‘哈哈！那通往列国的门户已遭破坏，城门向我大开，她已荒凉，我必兴盛。’

路人都拍掌嘲笑你。他们向耶路撒冷城摇头，嗤笑道：“这就是那被誉为完美无瑕、普世喜悦的城吗？”敌人都幸灾乐祸地讥讽你，他们咬牙切齿地说：“我们吞灭了她！这是我们期待已久的日子！我们终于见到这一天了！”
