爾目清潔、不視邪惡、不觀橫逆、爾何顧諟行詐者乎、惡人吞噬義於己者、爾何緘默乎、

爾品至聖、惡者爾所不喜、暴者爾所不悅、今人強據我有、何爾反佑之、惡者害義、何爾默不一言乎。

主目至潔、不欲觀妄為、不欲視惡行、今人作罪、作罪或作行欺詐之事主何為徒觀、惡人害較己尤義者、主何為默然不言乎、

Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrongdoing. Why then do you tolerate the treacherous? Why are you silent while the wicked swallow up those more righteous than themselves?

Your eyes are too pure to look at what is evil. You can’t put up with the wrong things people do. So why do you put up with those who can’t be trusted? The evil Babylonians swallow up those who are more godly than themselves. So why are you silent?

You who are of purer eyes than to see evil and cannot look at wrong, why do you idly look at traitors and remain silent when the wicked swallows up the man more righteous than he?

But you are pure and cannot stand the sight of evil. Will you wink at their treachery? Should you be silent while the wicked swallow up people more righteous than they?

Your eyes are too pure to look on evil, and you cannot tolerate wrongdoing. So why do you tolerate those who are treacherous? Why are you silent while one who is wicked swallows up one who is more righteous than himself?

Your eyes are too pure to look at evil, And You cannot look at harm favorably. Why do You look favorably At those who deal treacherously? Why are You silent when the wicked swallow up Those more righteous than they?

Thou that art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and that canst not look on perverseness, wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy peace when the wicked swalloweth up the man that is more righteous than he;

Your eyes are too pure to look on evil, and You cannot tolerate wrongdoing. So why do You tolerate those who are treacherous? Why are You silent while one who is wicked swallows up one who is more righteous than himself?

[ Thou art] of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously,[ and] holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth[ the man that is] more righteous than he?

You are too just to tolerate evil; you are unable to condone wrongdoing. So why do you put up with such treacherous people? Why do you say nothing when the wicked devour those more righteous than they are?

You who have purer eyes than to see evil, and who cannot look on perversity, why do you tolerate those who deal treacherously, and keep silent when the wicked swallows up the man who is more righteous than he,

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry.The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

Righteous are You, O Lord, when I plead with You; Yet let me talk with You about Your judgments. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are those happy who deal so treacherously?You have planted them, yes, they have taken root; They grow, yes, they bear fruit. You are near in their mouth But far from their mind.

Will You restrain Yourself because of these things, O Lord? Will You hold Your peace, and afflict us very severely?

Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent; A fire shall devour before Him, And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him.

Open your mouth for the speechless, In the cause of all who are appointed to die.Open your mouth, judge righteously, And plead the cause of the poor and needy.

Break the arm of the wicked and the evil man; Seek out his wickedness until You find none.

Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death;

So the Lord will return his blood on his head, because he struck down two men more righteous and better than he, and killed them with the sword— Abner the son of Ner, the commander of the army of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, the commander of the army of Judah— though my father David did not know it.

The wicked plots against the just, And gnashes at him with his teeth.The Lord laughs at him, For He sees that his day is coming.The wicked have drawn the sword And have bent their bow, To cast down the poor and needy, To slay those who are of upright conduct.Their sword shall enter their own heart, And their bows shall be broken.

This You have seen, O Lord; Do not keep silence. O Lord, do not be far from me.

The wicked watches the righteous, And seeks to slay him.The Lord will not leave him in his hand, Nor condemn him when he is judged.

For I was envious of the boastful, When I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

These things you have done, and I kept silent; You thought that I was altogether like you; But I will rebuke you, And set them in order before your eyes.

If God puts no trust in His saints, And the heavens are not pure in His sight,

The Lord is in His holy temple, The LORD’s throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men.The Lord tests the righteous, But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.Upon the wicked He will rain coals; Fire and brimstone and a burning wind Shall be the portion of their cup.For the Lord is righteous, He loves righteousness; His countenance beholds the upright.

For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You.The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity.

For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Why do You stand afar off, O Lord? Why do You hide in times of trouble?The wicked in his pride persecutes the poor; Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised.

Why do You show me iniquity, And cause me to see trouble? For plundering and violence are before me; There is strife, and contention arises.Therefore the law is powerless, And justice never goes forth. For the wicked surround the righteous; Therefore perverse judgment proceeds.

A distressing vision is declared to me; The treacherous dealer deals treacherously, And the plunderer plunders. Go up, O Elam! Besiege, O Media! All its sighing I have made to cease.

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go.But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.

How much more, when wicked men have killed a righteous person in his own house on his bed? Therefore, shall I not now require his blood at your hand and remove you from the earth?”

Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, And do not be still, O God!

Woe to you who plunder, though you have not been plundered; And you who deal treacherously, though they have not dealt treacherously with you! When you cease plundering, You will be plundered; When you make an end of dealing treacherously, They will deal treacherously with you.

Be merciful to me, O God, for man would swallow me up; Fighting all day he oppresses me.My enemies would hound me all day, For there are many who fight against me, O Most High.

but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,because it is written,“ Be holy, for I am holy.”
