And I will require a penalty for your lifeblood; I will require it from any animal and from any human; if someone murders a fellow human, I will require that person’s life.

至于你们的生命之血，我必为你们追讨：我要向野兽追讨，我也要向人，甚至向各人的兄弟追讨人命。

實在的，流你們的血、流你們性命之血的罪，我總要討罰的；我要向各樣走獸討罰：向人的手、向每一個人兄弟的手、討罰那害人性命的罪。

至於你們的生命之血，我必為你們追討：我要向野獸追討，我也要向人，甚至向各人的兄弟追討人命。

有流爾血、害爾命者、或獸或人、我必討之、凡害人命者、我必討之、

或獸傷人、或人相殺、凡流血殞命、殘害兄弟者、我必伸其冤。

有害爾命流爾血者、或獸或人、我必討其罪、人與人為兄弟、人若害人命、我必討其罪、

And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.

I will certainly hold someone accountable if you are murdered. I will even hold animals accountable if they kill you. I will also hold anyone accountable who murders another person.

And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man.

“ And I will require the blood of anyone who takes another person’s life. If a wild animal kills a person, it must die. And anyone who murders a fellow human must die.

I certainly will require your lifeblood; from every animal I will require it. And from every person, from every man as his brother I will require the life of a person.

Surely for your lifeblood I will demand a reckoning; from the hand of every beast I will require it, and from the hand of man. From the hand of every man’s brother I will require the life of man.

And surely your blood, the blood of your lives, will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it: and at the hand of man, even at the hand of every man’s brother, will I require the life of man.

I will require the life of every animal and every man for your life and your blood. I will require the life of each man’s brother for a man’s life.

And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man.

For your lifeblood I will surely exact punishment, from every living creature I will exact punishment. From each person I will exact punishment for the life of the individual since the man was his relative.

I will surely require accounting for your life’s blood. At the hand of every animal I will require it. At the hand of man, even at the hand of every man’s brother, I will require the life of man.

“ When an ox gores a man or a woman to death, the ox must be stoned, and its meat may not be eaten, but the ox’s owner is innocent.However, if the ox was in the habit of goring, and its owner has been warned yet does not restrain it, and it kills a man or a woman, the ox must be stoned, and its owner must also be put to death.

Then the LORD said to Cain,“ Where is your brother Abel?”“ I don’t know,” he replied.“ Am I my brother’s guardian?”Then he said,“ What have you done? Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground!

“ Whoever strikes a person so that he dies must be put to death.

So all the righteous blood shed on the earth will be charged to you, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar.

Do not go about spreading slander among your people; do not jeopardize your neighbor’s life; I am the LORD.

For the one who seeks an accounting for bloodshed remembers them; he does not forget the cry of the oppressed.

You are not to accept a ransom for the life of someone who is guilty of murder; he must be put to death.Neither should you accept a ransom for the person who flees to his city of refuge, allowing him to return and live in the land before the death of the high priest.“ Do not defile the land where you live, for bloodshed defiles the land, and there can be no atonement for the land because of the blood that is shed on it, except by the blood of the person who shed it.

Do not murder.

“ If a murder victim is found lying in a field in the land the LORD your God is giving you to possess, and it is not known who killed him,your elders and judges are to come out and measure the distance from the victim to the nearby cities.The elders of the city nearest to the victim are to get a young cow that has not been yoked or used for work.The elders of that city will bring the cow down to a continually flowing stream, to a place not tilled or sown, and they will break its neck there by the stream.Then the priests, the sons of Levi, will come forward, for the LORD your God has chosen them to serve him and pronounce blessings in his name, and they are to give a ruling in every dispute and case of assault.All the elders of the city nearest to the victim will wash their hands by the stream over the young cow whose neck has been broken.They will declare,‘ Our hands did not shed this blood; our eyes did not see it.LORD, wipe away the guilt of your people Israel whom you redeemed, and do not hold the shedding of innocent blood against them.’ Then the responsibility for bloodshed will be wiped away from them.You must purge from yourselves the guilt of shedding innocent blood, for you will be doing what is right in the LORD’s sight.
