Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”

神說：「不！你妻子撒拉必為你生一個兒子，你要給他起名叫以撒。我要與他堅立我的約，成為他後裔永遠的約。

你家裏生的和你用銀子買的，都必須受割禮。這樣，我的約就在你們肉體上成為永遠的約。

我因漲溢的怒氣，一時向你轉臉，但我要以永遠的慈愛憐憫你；這是耶和華－你的救贖主說的。這事於我有如挪亞的洪水；我怎樣起誓不再使挪亞的洪水淹沒全地，也照樣起誓不再向你發怒，且不斥責你。大山可以挪開，小山可以遷移，但我的慈愛必不離開你，我平安的約也不遷移；這是憐憫你的耶和華說的。

我的家在神面前不是如此嗎？神與我立永遠的約，這約既全備又穩妥。我的一切救恩和我一切所想望的，他豈不成全嗎？

我要與你，以及你世世代代的後裔堅立我的約，成為永遠的約，是要作你和你後裔的神。

但願賜平安的神，就是那憑永約之血，把羣羊的大牧人－我們主耶穌從死人中領出來的神，

我要跟他們立永遠的約，要施恩給他們，絕不轉離；又要把敬畏我的心放在他們心裏，不離棄我。

「看哪，我要與你們和你們後裔立我的約，包括和你們一起所有的生物，就是飛鳥、牲畜、地上一切的走獸，凡從方舟裏出來地上一切的生物。我與你們立我的約：凡有血肉的，不再被洪水滅絕，也不再有洪水毀壞這地了。」

耶和華聞了那馨香之氣，耶和華心裏說：「我不再因人的緣故詛咒土地，因為人從幼年就心裏懷着惡念；我也不再照我曾做的毀滅一切生物了。地還存在的時候，撒種、收割、寒暑、冬夏、晝夜都永不止息。」

當側耳而聽，來到我這裏；要聽，就必存活。我要與你們立永約，就是應許給大衛那可靠的慈愛。

「我與我所揀選的人立了約，向我的僕人大衛起了誓：『我要堅立你的後裔，直到永遠，要建立你的寶座，直到萬代。』」（細拉）
