上帝说：“不，你妻子撒拉必为你生一个儿子，你要给他取名叫以撒，我必向他和他的后代坚守我的约，直到永远。

不论是在你家里生的，还是你用钱买来的男子，都要接受割礼，这样你们的肉体上就有我永恒之约的记号。

我盛怒之下暂时掩面不理你，但我要以永远不变的慈爱怜悯你。这是你的救赎主耶和华说的。“这就像挪亚的时代，我怎样起誓不让挪亚时代的洪水再淹没大地，我也照样起誓不再向你发怒，也不再斥责你。大山可以挪开，小山可以迁移，但我的慈爱必不离开你，我平安的约也不会更改。这是怜悯你的耶和华说的。

我的家在上帝面前不正是如此吗？上帝与我立下永远的约，这约稳妥可靠。祂必拯救我，成全我的愿望。

我要和你并你的子子孙孙立永恒的约，我要做你和你子孙的上帝。

愿赐平安的上帝，就是那位凭着立永恒之约的血使群羊的大牧人——我主耶稣从死里复活的上帝，

我要与他们立永远的约，永远恩待他们，使他们对我心存敬畏，不再背弃我。

“我要跟你们和你们的后代，以及所有和你们在一起、从方舟出来的飞禽走兽和牲畜等各种动物立约。我与你们立约，不再叫洪水淹没一切生灵，也不再让洪水毁灭大地。”

耶和华闻到这燔祭的馨香，心想：“虽然人从小就心存恶念，但我再不会因为人的缘故而咒诅大地，再不会毁灭一切生灵。只要大地尚存，播种收割、夏热冬寒、白昼黑夜必永不停息。”

你们要到我这里来，侧耳听我的话，就必得到生命。我要跟你们立永久的约，将应许给大卫的可靠恩福赐给你们。

你曾说：“我与我所拣选的人立了约，向我的仆人大卫起了誓，‘我要使你的后裔永远坐在宝座上，世代为王。’”（细拉）
