那使太陽白晝發光，派定月亮和星辰照耀黑夜，又攪動海洋，使海浪澎湃的，萬軍之耶和華是他的名，他這樣說：

白晝是你的，黑夜也是你的，月亮和太陽，都是你設立的。地上的一切疆界都是你立定的，夏天和冬天都是你制定的。

因為冬天已過，雨水止息，已經過去了。地上百花齊放，百鳥齊鳴的時候已經來到；斑鳩的聲音在我們境內也聽見了。

所以，弟兄們，你們應當忍耐，直到主來。看哪，農夫等待著地裡寶貴的出產，為它忍耐，直到獲得秋霖春雨。

他們心裡也不想想：‘我們應當敬畏耶和華我們的神，他按時賜雨，就是秋雨春霖，又為我們保存定時收割的節令。’

在怒氣漲溢的時候，我暫時向你掩面，卻要以永遠的慈愛憐憫你；這是耶和華你的救贖主說的。這事對我就好像挪亞時代的洪水一般；我怎樣起誓不再使挪亞時代的洪水漫過大地，我也照樣起誓不向你發怒，也不斥責你。
