And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart[ is] evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

耶和华闻那馨香之气，就心里说：“我不再因人的缘故咒诅地（人从小时心里怀着恶念），也不再按着我才行的灭各种的活物了。

永恆主聞了那怡神的香氣，就心裏說：『我必不再因人的緣故而咒詛土地，雖然人從年幼時心裏所計畫的就是壞事；我也不再照我所剛行的來擊滅眾生了。

耶和華聞到了那馨香之氣，就心裡說：「我絕不再因人的緣故詛咒這地，儘管人從年幼時就心懷邪惡；我也絕不再像我曾做的，毀滅所有的活物。

耶和華聞其馨香、意謂人自幼時、衷懷邪慝、嗣後我不緣之詛地、不復殄滅生物、如前所為、

馨聞於上、耶和華意謂人雖自孩提、其心常懷惡念、嗣後我必不緣之詛地、復滅生物。

主享其馨香、其心曰、嗣後我必不緣人降禍於地、降禍於地原文作詛地因人自幼時、心懷惡念、我不復滅生物如前所行、

The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart:“ Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.

The smell of the offerings pleased the Lord. He said to himself,“ I will never put a curse on the ground again because of human beings. I will not do it even though their hearts are always directed toward evil. Their thoughts are evil from the time they are young. I will never destroy all living things again, as I have just done.

And when the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, the Lord said in his heart,“ I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done.

And the Lord was pleased with the aroma of the sacrifice and said to himself,“ I will never again curse the ground because of the human race, even though everything they think or imagine is bent toward evil from childhood. I will never again destroy all living things.

When the LORD smelled the pleasing aroma, he said to himself,“ I will never again curse the ground because of human beings, even though the inclination of the human heart is evil from youth onward. And I will never again strike down every living thing as I have done.

The Lord smelled the soothing aroma, and the Lord said to Himself,“ I will never again curse the ground on account of man, for the intent of man’s heart is evil from his youth; and I will never again destroy every living thing, as I have done.

And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart,“ I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.

And Jehovah smelled the sweet savor; and Jehovah said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake, for that the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more everything living, as I have done.

When the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, He said to Himself,“ I will never again curse the ground because of man, even though man’s inclination is evil from his youth. And I will never again strike down every living thing as I have done.

And the LORD smelled the soothing aroma and said to himself,“ I will never again curse the ground because of humankind, even though the inclination of their minds is evil from childhood on. I will never again destroy everything that lives, as I have just done.

Yahweh smelled the pleasant aroma. Yahweh said in his heart,“ I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake because the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth. I will never again strike every living thing, as I have done.

The heart[ is] deceitful above all[ things], and desperately wicked: who can know it?

For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

But his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water: and the priest shall burn all on the altar,[ to be] a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.

And GOD saw that the wickedness of man[ was] great in the earth, and[ that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart[ was] only evil continually.

But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things[ which were sent] from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.

But he shall wash the inwards and the legs with water: and the priest shall bring[ it] all, and burn[ it] upon the altar: it[ is] a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.

And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed[ is] the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat[ of] it all the days of thy life;

And he shall cleave it with the wings thereof,[ but] shall not divide[ it] asunder: and the priest shall burn it upon the altar, upon the wood that[ is] upon the fire: it[ is] a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

I will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen.

Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

And thou shalt receive them of their hands, and burn[ them] upon the altar for a burnt offering, for a sweet savour before the LORD: it[ is] an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein[ is] the breath of life, from under heaven;[ and] every thing that[ is] in the earth shall die.

For this[ is as] the waters of Noah unto me: for[ as] I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.

Because the carnal mind[ is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified[ him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

And thou shalt burn the whole ram upon the altar: it[ is] a burnt offering unto the LORD: it[ is] a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Who can bring a clean[ thing] out of an unclean? not one.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

For[ there is] not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

And you[ hath he quickened], who were dead in trespasses and sins;Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?

And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.

When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.

Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured,[ even] thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee.

Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from that time[ that] thine ear was not opened: for I knew that thou wouldest deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb.

[ And] we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

How fair is thy love, my sister,[ my] spouse! how much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointments than all spices!Thy lips, O[ my] spouse, drop[ as] the honeycomb: honey and milk[ are] under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments[ is] like the smell of Lebanon.

I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept[ them]: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.

What[ is] man, that he should be clean? and[ he which is] born of a woman, that he should be righteous?Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight.How much more abominable and filthy[ is] man, which drinketh iniquity like water?

And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.And God said, This[ is] the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that[ is] with you, for perpetual generations:I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:And I will remember my covenant, which[ is] between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

From whence[ come] wars and fightings among you?[ come they] not hence,[ even] of your lusts that war in your members?Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

I hearkened and heard,[ but] they spake not aright: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into the battle.

Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.

And he called his name Noah, saying, This[ same] shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Behold,[ it is] written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom,

And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours.
