Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made.”

洪水在地上持续了四十天，水不断上涨，把方舟托起，方舟就从地上浮了起来。

大雨降在地上四十昼夜——

耶和华说：“我要把我所创造的人从地面上抹掉，并且从人到牲畜、到爬行之物、到天空的飞鸟都抹掉，因为我后悔造了他们。”

“看哪，我要使大洪水临到地上，要毁灭普天之下一切有生命气息、有血肉的，地上的一切都将断气！

神对挪亚说：“一切血肉之躯的结局已经来到我面前，因为他们使大地充满了残暴；看哪，我要把他们与这地一起毁灭！

他另外又等了七天，又把鸽子放出去，鸽子就再也没有回到他那里了。

那得胜的，将要同样穿上白衣，我绝不从生命册上抹去他的名字；而且我将要在我父面前、在我父的众天使面前，承认他的名字。

愿他们从生命册上被抹掉，不要让他们与义人一同被记录。

那七天一过，大洪水就临到地上了。

过完大女儿的新婚周，我们就把小女儿也给你，来换取你对我另外七年的服事。”雅各就这样做，过完了莉亚的新婚周。然后，拉班把自己的女儿瑞秋给了雅各为妻。

田野的灌木还没有出现在地上，田间的蔬草也还没有长出，因为耶和华神没有降雨在地上，也没有人耕耘土地；

耶和华就说：“我的灵不会永远住在人里面，因人是血肉之躯；他的年日只可以到一百二十年。”

一切有血肉、在地上活动的，就是飞鸟、牲畜、野兽和充满大地的各样群聚动物，以及所有的人都断了气。在陆地上一切鼻孔里有生命气息的都死了。这样，神抹掉了地面上的一切生物——从人到牲畜、到爬行之物、到天空的飞鸟，都从地上抹掉了；只留下挪亚和那些与他一起在方舟里的。

他又等了七天，再次把鸽子从方舟放出去。
