既然上帝也没有宽容上古的世界，曾叫洪水临到那不敬虔的世界，只保护了报公义信息的挪亚一家八口；

就是那些从前在挪亚预备方舟、上帝容忍等待的时候不信从的人。当时进入方舟，藉着水得救的不多，只有八个人。

因着信，挪亚既蒙上帝指示他未见的事，动了敬畏的心，造了方舟，使他全家得救。藉此他定了那世代的罪，自己也承受了那从信而来的义。

挪亚的日子怎样，人子的日子也要怎样。那时，人又吃又喝，又娶又嫁，直到挪亚进方舟的那日，洪水就来，把他们全都灭了。

因为耶和华是我的避难所，你以至高者为居所，祸患必不临到你，灾害也不挨近你的帐棚。

海水回流，淹没了战车和战车长，以及那些跟着以色列人下到海中的法老全军，连一个也没有剩下。以色列人却在海中走干地，水在他们的左右成了墙壁。那一日，耶和华拯救以色列脱离埃及人的手。以色列人看见埃及人死在海边。

你六次遭难，他必救你；就是七次，灾祸也无法害你。

看哪，耶和华使地空虚，变为荒芜，地面扭曲，居民四散。那时，百姓如何，祭司也如何；仆人如何，主人也如何；婢女如何，主母也如何；买主如何，卖主也如何；放债的如何，借贷的也如何；债主如何，欠债的也如何。地必全然空虚，尽都荒芜，因为这话是耶和华说的。大地悲哀凋零，世界败落衰残，地上居高位的人也没落了。地被其上的居民所污秽，因为他们犯了律法，废了律例，背了永约。所以，诅咒吞灭大地，住在其上的都有罪；地上的居民被火焚烧，剩下的人稀少。新酒悲哀，葡萄树凋残，心中欢乐的都叹息。击鼓之乐停止，狂欢者的喧哗止住，弹琴之乐也停止了。

那么，主知道搭救敬虔的人脱离试炼，把不义的人留在惩罚之下等候审判的日子，

万军之耶和华说：“在我所定的日子，他们必属我，是我宝贵的产业。我必怜悯他们，如同人怜悯那服侍他的儿子。那时你们必再一次看出义人和恶人，事奉上帝和不事奉上帝的人有何差别。”

住在至高者隐密处的，必住在全能者的荫下。

凡有血肉在地上行动的，就是飞鸟、牲畜、走兽和地上成群的群聚动物，以及所有的人，都死了。在干地上凡鼻孔里有生命气息的都死了。

藉着水，当时的世界被水淹没而消灭了。

虽有挪亚、但以理、约伯这三人在那里，他们只能因自己的义救自己的命。这是主耶和华说的。我若使恶兽经过那地，大肆蹂躏，使地荒凉，以致因这些兽，人都不得经过；虽有这三人在其中，主耶和华说：我指着我的永生起誓，他们不能救儿子女儿，只有他们自己可以得救，那地仍然荒凉。或者我使刀剑临到那地，说：‘让刀剑穿越那地’，以致我把人与牲畜从其中剪除；虽有这三人在其中，主耶和华说：我指着我的永生起誓，他们不能救儿子女儿，只有他们自己可以得救。或者我叫瘟疫流行那地，把我的愤怒带着血倾在其中，好使人与牲畜从其中剪除；虽有挪亚、但以理、约伯在那里，主耶和华说：我指着我的永生起誓，他们不能救儿子女儿，只能因自己的义救自己的命。

遭怒的日子钱财无益；惟有公义能救人脱离死亡。

这些人要往永刑里去；那些义人要往永生里去。”

你要依从上古的道吗？这道是恶人行过的。他们未到时候就被抓去；他们的根基被江河冲去。他们向上帝说：‘离开我们吧！’全能者能把他们怎么样呢？
