既然神也没有顾惜上古的世界，使洪水临到那不敬神的世界，只保守了义的传道者挪亚一家八口；

就是从前在挪亚建造方舟的那些日子里，在神耐心等待的时候那些不肯信从的灵魂。当时进入方舟，藉着水获救的人很少，只有八个人。

因着信，挪亚在那还看不见的事上得了神的指示，就动了敬畏的心，建造了一只方舟，以至于他的家人获救。藉着信，他定了世界的罪，自己也继承了从信而来的义。

“在挪亚的那些日子里发生的怎样，在人子的那些日子里也将要怎样：人们继续吃、喝、嫁、娶，直到挪亚进方舟的那一天，洪水到来，把一切都毁灭了。

因为你把耶和华——至高者、我的避难所——当作你的居所，恶事必不会发生在你身上，疾患也不会靠近你的帐篷；

看哪！耶和华使大地空废，变得荒凉；又使地面扭曲，使地上的居民四散。那时，百姓怎样，祭司也怎样；仆人怎样，主人也怎样；婢女怎样，主母也怎样；购买的怎样，贩卖的也怎样；借给人的怎样，向人借的也怎样；放债的怎样，借债的也怎样。大地必彻底空废，被掠夺净尽，因为耶和华已经说了这话。大地悲凉凋萎，世界衰落凋萎，地上权高位重的人也衰落了。大地被其上的居民玷污，因为他们违背律法，违犯律例，破坏永远的约。因此诅咒吞噬大地，其上的居民必承担罪责；因此地上的居民被焚烧，只有少数人残留下来。新酒枯竭，葡萄树衰残，心里欢乐的都叹息。欢快的鼓声止息，欢腾者的喧嚷停止，欢快的琴声也止息了。

那么，主就知道怎样拯救敬神的人脱离试炼，却把不义的人留在惩罚之下，直到审判的日子，

万军之耶和华说：“在我预备珍贵产业的日子，他们必属于我；我必怜恤他们，如同人怜恤那服事自己的儿子。那时，你们必再次看出义人与恶人、服事神的人与不服事神的人的区别。”

住在至高者隐秘处的，将安居在全能者的荫庇下。

一切有血肉、在地上活动的，就是飞鸟、牲畜、野兽和充满大地的各样群聚动物，以及所有的人都断了气。在陆地上一切鼻孔里有生命气息的都死了。

藉着神的话语和水，当时的世界被水淹没就毁灭了；

在盛怒的日子里财物没有益处；唯有公义解救人脱离死亡。

“结果这些人将离去，进入永远的刑罚。然而，义人将进入永恒的生命。”
