神也没有姑息上古的世界，反而使洪水临到那不敬虔的世人，只保存了传义道的挪亚一家八口。

他们就是挪亚建造方舟的日子、神容忍等待的时候，那些不顺从的人。当时进入方舟、藉着水得救的人不多，只有八个。

因着信，挪亚在还没有看见的事上，得了神的警告，就动了敬畏的心，做了一艘方舟，使他全家得救。藉着这信心，他就定了那世代的罪，自己也承受了那因信而来的义。

挪亚的时代怎样，人子的时代也是怎样。当时人们吃喝嫁娶，直到挪亚进入方舟的那一天，洪水来了，把他们全都灭掉。

海水一回流，就淹没了马车、马兵和那些跟着以色列人下海去的法老的全军，连一个也没有余下。以色列人却在海中走干地，水在他们的左右作了墙垣。这样，耶和华就在那一天把以色列人从埃及人的手里拯救了出来；以色列人看见埃及人都死在海边。

你六次遭遇患难，他都救拔你，就算第七次，灾祸也伤不了你。

看哪！耶和华使大地空虚，变为荒凉；他必翻转地面，使地上的居民四散。人民和祭司，仆人和主人，婢女和主母，购买的和贩卖的，借给人和向人借的，放债的和借债的，全都一样被分散。大地必完全倒空，被劫掠净尽，这话是耶和华说的。大地悲哀衰残，世界零落衰残，地上居高位的人也衰败了。大地被其上的居民玷污，因为他们犯了律法，违了律例，背了永远的约。因此，大地被咒诅吞灭，地上的居民要承担惩罚。因此，地上的居民被焚烧，剩下的人很少。新酒悲哀，葡萄树衰残，心中欢乐的，变为叹息。击鼓的喜乐止息，宴乐者的喧哗停止，弹琴的喜乐也止息了。

主知道怎样搭救敬虔的人脱离试探，又把不义的人留下来，等候在审判的日子受刑罚，

万军之耶和华说：“在我施行作为的日子，他们要属我，作特别的产业；我必怜恤他们，好像人怜恤那服事自己的儿子一样。那时，你们就要再看出义人与恶人、事奉神的人和不事奉他的人之间有什么分别。”

住在至高者的隐密处的，必在全能者的荫庇下安居。

凡有生命仍在地上行动的，无论是飞鸟或是牲畜，走兽或是在地上滋生的各样小生物，以及所有的人都死了；仍在陆地上，鼻孔里有气息的生灵都死了。

当时的世界，因被水淹没而消灭了。

即使有挪亚、但以理和约伯这三个人，他们也只能因自己的义救自己的性命。这是主耶和华的宣告。如果我使猛兽经过那地，蹂躏那地，使它荒凉，以致因为这些兽的缘故，没有人敢经过；即使有这三个人在其中，我指着我的永生起誓，他们只能救自己，连儿女也不能救，那地却仍然荒凉。这是主耶和华的宣告。如果我使刀剑临到那地，说：‘愿刀剑经过那地，好让我把人和牲畜从那地剪除。’即使有这三个人在其中，主耶和华说：我指着我的永生起誓，他们只能救自己，连儿女也不能救。如果我使瘟疫流行那地，藉着流血的事把我的烈怒倾倒在那地上，使人和牲畜都从那地剪除；即使当中有挪亚、但以理和约伯，我指着我的永生起誓，他们只能因自己的义救自己的性命，连儿女也不能救。这是主耶和华的宣告。”

在神发怒的日子，财物毫无益处；唯有公义能救人脱离死亡。

他们要进入永远的刑罚，义人却要进入永生。”

你要谨守古往的道，就是恶人所行走的吗？他们未到时候，就被抓去，他们的根基被洪水冲去。他们对神说：‘离开我们吧！全能者能把我们怎么样呢？’
