上帝也没有容忍远古的世代，曾用洪水淹灭了世上不敬虔的恶人，只留下传讲上帝公义的挪亚和他的七位家人。

他们就是从前在挪亚造方舟、上帝耐心等候人们悔改的时代中那些不肯信的人。当时进入方舟，从洪水中得救的人很少，只有八个人。

挪亚因为有信心，在上帝指示他未来要发生的事之后，就怀着敬畏的心建造方舟，来救全家的人。他借着信心定了那个世代的罪，并承受了因信而来的义。

海水回流，法老的战车和人马都淹没在大海之中，全军覆没。全体以色列人却在干地上走过红海，海水在他们两边筑成水墙。那天，耶和华就这样从埃及人手中拯救了以色列人。后来，以色列人还看见埃及人的尸体横在海边。

六次遭难，祂都救你；第七次，灾祸也伤不到你。

看啊，耶和华必摧毁大地，使大地荒凉。祂毁坏地面，驱散万民。那时，祭司和百姓，主人和仆人，主母和婢女，买的和卖的，贷的和借的，债主和债户都必同遭厄运。大地必完全毁坏，一片荒凉。这是耶和华说的。大地必衰残枯干，世界必衰败荒凉，世上的权贵也必败落。大地被世人玷污，他们违犯律法，不守律例，背弃永远的约。所以大地必遭受咒诅，世人必因罪而受惩罚。他们必被焚烧，所剩无几。葡萄树枯萎，新酒停产，欢乐的人都发出悲叹。欢快的鼓声止息，悦耳的琴音消失，宴乐的喧闹不复听闻。

上帝知道怎样拯救敬虔的人脱离试炼，把不义的人拘禁在刑罚之下，等候审判的日子，

万军之耶和华说：“到我所定的日子，他们必成为我宝贵的产业，我要怜悯他们，如同父亲怜悯他的孝顺儿子。那时，你们将再度看出义人与恶人之间的区别，事奉上帝者和不事奉上帝者之间的不同。

安居在至高者隐秘处的人，必蒙全能者的荫庇。

世上所有的飞禽、走兽、牲畜、爬虫和人类都死了。在陆地上所有用鼻孔呼吸的生灵都死了。

后来，那个世界被水淹没而毁灭了。

在降怒之日，财富毫无益处，唯有公义能救人免于死亡。

这些人要受永远的刑罚，但义人要得到永远的生命。”

难道你要走恶人的古道，步他们的后尘？他们死期未到便已夭逝，他们的根基被洪涛卷走。他们对上帝说，‘离开我们吧！全能者能把我们怎么样？’
