On that very day Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark.

耶和華對挪亞說：“你和你全家都要進入方舟，因為在這世代中，我見只有你在我面前是個義人。

我要和你立約。你可以進入方舟；你和你的兒子、妻子和兒媳，都可以和你一同進入方舟。

雅弗的哥哥閃，就是希伯所有子孫的祖宗，他也生了孩子。

挪亞的兒子，從方舟裡出來的，就是閃、含、雅弗；含是迦南的父親。這三個人是挪亞的兒子，全地的人都是從這些人播散開來的。

因著信，挪亞在還沒有看見的事上，得了神的警告，就動了敬畏的心，做了一艘方舟，使他全家得救。藉著這信心，他就定了那世代的罪，自己也承受了那因信而來的義。

他們就是挪亞建造方舟的日子、神容忍等待的時候，那些不順從的人。當時進入方舟、藉著水得救的人不多，只有八個。

以下是挪亞的兒子閃、含、雅弗的後代。洪水以後，他們都生了兒子。雅弗的兒子是歌篾、瑪各、瑪代、雅完、土巴、米設、提拉。

挪亞生了三個兒子，就是閃、含、雅弗。

挪亞五百歲的時候，就生了閃、含和雅弗。

神也沒有姑息上古的世界，反而使洪水臨到那不敬虔的世人，只保存了傳義道的挪亞一家八口。

挪亞、挪亞生閃、含和雅弗。雅弗的兒子是歌篾、瑪各、瑪代、雅完、土巴、米設、提拉。歌篾的兒子是亞實基拿、低法、陀迦瑪。雅完的兒子是以利沙、他施，基提人和多單人也是他的子孫。含的兒子是古實、埃及、弗和迦南。古實的兒子是西巴、哈腓拉、撒弗他、拉瑪和撒弗提迦。拉瑪的兒子是示巴和底但。古實又生寧錄；寧錄是世上第一位英雄。埃及生路低人、亞拿米人、利哈比人、拿弗土希人、帕斯魯細人、迦斯路希人和迦斐託人；從迦斐託而出的有非利士人。迦南生了長子西頓，又生赫。他的子孫還有：耶布斯人、亞摩利人、革迦撒人、希未人、亞基人、西尼人、亞瓦底人、洗瑪利人和哈馬人。閃的兒子是以攔、亞述、亞法撒、路德、亞蘭、亞蘭的兒子是（《馬索拉文本》缺“亞蘭的兒子是”，現參照《七十士譯本》補上；參創10:23）烏斯、戶勒、基帖、米設。亞法撒生沙拉，沙拉生希伯。希伯生了兩個兒子，一個名叫法勒，因為他在世的時候，世人就分散各地；法勒的兄弟名叫約坍。約坍生亞摩答、沙列、哈薩瑪非、耶拉、哈多蘭、烏薩、德拉、以巴錄、亞比瑪利、示巴、阿斐、哈腓拉、約巴。這些人都是約坍的兒子。閃、亞法撒、沙拉、希伯、法勒、拉吳、西鹿、拿鶴、他拉、亞伯蘭，亞伯蘭就是亞伯拉罕。亞伯拉罕的兒子是以撒和以實瑪利。

含的兒子是古實、埃及、弗和迦南。

挪亞帶著他的兒子、妻子和兒媳一同進了方舟，躲避洪水。潔淨的牲畜和不潔淨的牲畜，飛鳥和各種在地上爬行的動物，都是一公一母、一對一對來到挪亞那裡，進入方舟，是照著神吩咐挪亞的。
