On that very day Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark.

耶和华对挪亚说：“你和你全家都要进入方舟，因为在这世代中，我见只有你在我面前是个义人。

我要和你立约。你可以进入方舟；你和你的儿子、妻子和儿媳，都可以和你一同进入方舟。

雅弗的哥哥闪，就是希伯所有子孙的祖宗，他也生了孩子。

挪亚的儿子，从方舟里出来的，就是闪、含、雅弗；含是迦南的父亲。这三个人是挪亚的儿子，全地的人都是从这些人播散开来的。

因着信，挪亚在还没有看见的事上，得了神的警告，就动了敬畏的心，做了一艘方舟，使他全家得救。藉着这信心，他就定了那世代的罪，自己也承受了那因信而来的义。

他们就是挪亚建造方舟的日子、神容忍等待的时候，那些不顺从的人。当时进入方舟、藉着水得救的人不多，只有八个。

以下是挪亚的儿子闪、含、雅弗的后代。洪水以后，他们都生了儿子。雅弗的儿子是歌篾、玛各、玛代、雅完、土巴、米设、提拉。

挪亚生了三个儿子，就是闪、含、雅弗。

挪亚五百岁的时候，就生了闪、含和雅弗。

神也没有姑息上古的世界，反而使洪水临到那不敬虔的世人，只保存了传义道的挪亚一家八口。

挪亚、挪亚生闪、含和雅弗。雅弗的儿子是歌篾、玛各、玛代、雅完、土巴、米设、提拉。歌篾的儿子是亚实基拿、低法、陀迦玛。雅完的儿子是以利沙、他施，基提人和多单人也是他的子孙。含的儿子是古实、埃及、弗和迦南。古实的儿子是西巴、哈腓拉、撒弗他、拉玛和撒弗提迦。拉玛的儿子是示巴和底但。古实又生宁录；宁录是世上第一位英雄。埃及生路低人、亚拿米人、利哈比人、拿弗土希人、帕斯鲁细人、迦斯路希人和迦斐托人；从迦斐托而出的有非利士人。迦南生了长子西顿，又生赫。他的子孙还有：耶布斯人、亚摩利人、革迦撒人、希未人、亚基人、西尼人、亚瓦底人、洗玛利人和哈马人。闪的儿子是以拦、亚述、亚法撒、路德、亚兰、亚兰的儿子是（《马索拉文本》缺“亚兰的儿子是”，现参照《七十士译本》补上；参创10:23）乌斯、户勒、基帖、米设。亚法撒生沙拉，沙拉生希伯。希伯生了两个儿子，一个名叫法勒，因为他在世的时候，世人就分散各地；法勒的兄弟名叫约坍。约坍生亚摩答、沙列、哈萨玛非、耶拉、哈多兰、乌萨、德拉、以巴录、亚比玛利、示巴、阿斐、哈腓拉、约巴。这些人都是约坍的儿子。闪、亚法撒、沙拉、希伯、法勒、拉吴、西鹿、拿鹤、他拉、亚伯兰，亚伯兰就是亚伯拉罕。亚伯拉罕的儿子是以撒和以实玛利。

含的儿子是古实、埃及、弗和迦南。

挪亚带着他的儿子、妻子和儿媳一同进了方舟，躲避洪水。洁净的牲畜和不洁净的牲畜，飞鸟和各种在地上爬行的动物，都是一公一母、一对一对来到挪亚那里，进入方舟，是照着神吩咐挪亚的。
