但那将领对上帝的仆人说：“即使耶和华打开天上的窗户，也不可能发生这样的事！”上帝的仆人说：“你必亲眼看见，却吃不到。”

主——万军之耶和华触摸大地，大地就消融，地上的人都要哀号；大地如埃及的尼罗河涨起退落。那位在天上建造楼阁，在大地之上立定穹苍，召来海水浇在大地上的——祂的名字是耶和华。

洪水来临之前，人们吃吃喝喝，男婚女嫁，一直到挪亚进方舟那天；

祂向穹苍发出命令，又打开天门，降下吗哪给他们吃，赐下天粮。

祂将海水聚在一处，把汪洋收进仓库。

你曾开辟泉源和溪流，也曾使滔滔河水枯干。

“大海从母胎奔腾而出时，谁为它划定界限？是我为大海披上云彩，为它裹上厚厚的幽暗。是我为它划定界限，并安上门和闩，说，‘你到此为止，不可越界；你狂傲的波涛要停在这里。’

他们在杳无人烟、人踪绝迹之地开矿，他们远离人群，悬在半空摇来摇去。

祂一声令下，天上便大水澎湃；祂使云雾从地极上升，使闪电在雨中划过，使风从祂的仓库吹出。

一个搀扶王的将领对上帝的仆人说：“即使耶和华打开天上的窗户，也不可能发生这样的事！”以利沙说：“你必亲眼看见，却吃不到。”

上使穹苍坚固，下使深渊的泉源安稳，设定沧海的界限，使海水不得越过祂定的范围，为大地奠定根基的时候，

难道你们不敬畏我吗？这是耶和华说的。难道你们在我面前不颤抖吗？我以沙石为海的界限，使水永远不能越过它。汹涌的波涛不能逾越，澎湃的海浪不能漫过。

看啊，我要使洪水在地上泛滥，毁灭天下。地上一切有气息的生灵都要灭亡。

大地断裂、崩溃，剧烈震动。

当人们正在说一切平安稳妥的时候，灾祸会像产痛临到孕妇一样突然临到他们，令他们无法逃脱。
