And the Lord said,“ My Spirit will not remain with mankind forever, because they are corrupt. Their days will be 120 years.”

耶和華曰、人既屬乎形軀、我神必不恆居其中、然其時日、尚可延至一百二十年、

耶和華曰、人既縱欲、我神必不恆牖其衷、然尚可延其生命、至於一百二十年。

主曰、人既為肉體、我之神不恆居於其內、或作我之神不永與之爭姑容其一百二十年、或作以後其壽命至一百二十年

Then the Lord said,“ My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.”

Then the Lord said,“ My Spirit will not struggle with human beings forever. They will have only 120 years to live.”

Then the Lord said,“ My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.”

Then the Lord said,“ My Spirit will not put up with humans for such a long time, for they are only mortal flesh. In the future, their normal lifespan will be no more than 120 years.”

And the LORD said,“ My Spirit will not remain with mankind forever, because they are corrupt. Their days will be 120 years.”

Then the Lord said,“ My Spirit will not remain with man forever, because he is also flesh; nevertheless his days shall be 120 years.”

And the Lord said,“ My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”

And Jehovah said, My Spirit shall not strive with man for ever, for that he also is flesh: yet shall his days be a hundred and twenty years.

And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also[ is] flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

So the LORD said,“ My spirit will not remain in humankind indefinitely, since they are mortal. They will remain for 120 more years.”

Yahweh said,“ My Spirit will not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; so his days will be one hundred twenty years.”

You were patient with them for many years, and Your Spirit warned them through Your prophets, but they would not listen. Therefore, You handed them over to the surrounding peoples.

For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring you to God, after being put to death in the fleshly realm but made alive in the spiritual realm.In that state He also went and made a proclamation to the spirits in prisonwho in the past were disobedient, when God patiently waited in the days of Noah while an ark was being prepared. In it a few— that is, eight people— were saved through water.

But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit. So He became their enemy and fought against them.

Don’t stifle the Spirit.

He remembered that they were only flesh, a wind that passes and does not return.

Then I will come down and speak with you there. I will take some of the Spirit who is on you and put the Spirit on them. They will help you bear the burden of the people, so that you do not have to bear it by yourself.

“ Therefore, this is what the Lord says: I am about to bring on them disaster that they cannot escape. They will cry out to Me, but I will not hear them.

I say then, walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.For the flesh desires what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit desires what is against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you don’t do what you want.But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity,idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions,envy, drunkenness, carousing, and anything similar. I tell you about these things in advance— as I told you before— that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith,gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

What more could I have done for My vineyard than I did? Why, when I expected a yield of good grapes, did it yield worthless grapes?

“ You stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are always resisting the Holy Spirit; as your ancestors did, so do you.

And Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied about them: Look! The Lord comes with thousands of His holy onesto execute judgment on all and to convict them of all their ungodly acts that they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things ungodly sinners have said against Him.

Therefore, no condemnation now exists for those in Christ Jesus,because the Spirit’s law of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.What the law could not do since it was limited by the flesh, God did. He condemned sin in the flesh by sending His own Son in flesh like ours under sin’s domain, and as a sin offering,in order that the law’s requirement would be accomplished in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.For those who live according to the flesh think about the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, about the things of the Spirit.For the mind-set of the flesh is death, but the mind-set of the Spirit is life and peace.For the mind-set of the flesh is hostile to God because it does not submit itself to God’s law, for it is unable to do so.Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.You, however, are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, since the Spirit of God lives in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.Now if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then He who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through His Spirit who lives in you.So then, brothers, we are not obligated to the flesh to live according to the flesh,for if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

Whatever is born of the flesh is flesh, and whatever is born of the Spirit is spirit.

For I strongly warned your ancestors when I brought them out of the land of Egypt until today, warning them time and time again,‘ Obey My voice.’
