萬物的盡頭快到了。因此，你們要謹慎自律，警醒禱告。

以色列人啊，你們要留心聽耶和華的話。祂指控住在這片土地上的居民，說：「這片土地上的人不忠不信，毫無良善，不認識上帝。他們咒詛、撒謊、兇殺、偷竊、通姦，為所欲為，血案纍纍。

不過，主再來的日子要像賊一樣突然臨到。那日，諸天必在一聲巨響中消失，有形有質的都要被烈火焚毀，大地和其中的一切將不復存在。一切都要這樣被焚毀，你們在熱切等候上帝來臨的日子期間，該怎樣過聖潔、敬虔的生活啊！因為到那日，天要被火焚毀，有形有質的都要被烈火熔化燒盡。

地上的人類、飛禽走獸和爬蟲等一切生靈都被毀滅了，只剩下挪亞和跟他同在方舟裡的生靈。

當時的世界在上帝眼中非常敗壞，充滿了暴行。上帝看見世界敗壞了，因為世人行為敗壞。

「西緬和利未串通一氣，依仗刀劍，殘暴不仁。

耶和華問我：「阿摩司，你看見什麼？」我說：「我看見一籃夏天的果子。」祂說：「我以色列子民的結局到了，我不會再饒恕他們。

我俯瞰大地，一片空虛混沌；我仰望天空，毫無亮光。我眺望群山，大山在顫抖，小山在搖晃。我四下觀看，只見杳無人煙，飛鳥絕跡。我四下觀看，只見良田變荒野，城邑都在耶和華的烈怒下淪為廢墟。耶和華說：「遍地將要荒涼，然而不會被我徹底毀滅。因此，地要悲哀，天要昏暗，因為我言出必行，決不反悔。」

從那時起，地上出現了一些巨人，他們是上古有名的勇士，是上帝的兒子和人的女兒所生的後代。

住在河邊、擁有財寶的巴比倫人啊，你們的結局到了，你們的末日來了。」

後來，那個世界被水淹沒而毀滅了。同樣，現在的天地要憑上帝的話語存留到不敬虔的人被審判和毀滅的日子，那時天地要被火焚燒。

挪亞因為有信心，在上帝指示他未來要發生的事之後，就懷著敬畏的心建造方舟，來救全家的人。他藉著信心定了那個世代的罪，並承受了因信而來的義。
