約瑟又叫以色列的子孫起誓，說：“神必定眷顧你們，那時你們要把我的骸骨從這裡帶上去應許之地。”

And Joseph made the Israelites swear an oath and said,“ God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up from this place.”

Joseph made the Israelites promise him. He said,“ God will surely come to help you. Then you must carry my bones up from this place.”

Then Joseph made the sons of Israel swear, saying,“ God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here.”

Then Joseph made the sons of Israel swear an oath, and he said,“ When God comes to help you and lead you back, you must take my bones with you.”

So Joseph made the sons of Israel take an oath:“ When God comes to your aid, you are to carry my bones up from here.”

Then Joseph made the sons of Israel swear, saying,“ God will assuredly take care of you, and you shall carry my bones up from here.”

Then Joseph took an oath from the children of Israel, saying,“ God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here.”

So Joseph made the sons of Israel take an oath:“ When God comes to your aid, you are to carry my bones up from here.”

以色列人從埃及帶出來的約瑟骸骨，葬在示劍的一塊田裡；這塊田是雅各從前用一百塊銀子向示劍的父親哈抹的子孫那裡買來的；這塊田就成了約瑟子孫的產業。

摩西帶了約瑟的骸骨同去，因為約瑟曾經叫以色列人嚴肅地起誓，說：“神必定眷顧你們；你們要把我的骸骨從這裡也一同帶去。”

因著信，約瑟臨終的時候，提到以色列子民出埃及的事，並且為自己的骸骨留下遺言。

運到示劍，埋葬在亞伯拉罕用銀子向哈抹子孫買來的墳地裡。

以色列的死期快到了，就把他兒子約瑟叫了來，對他說：“如果我在你面前蒙你喜悅，請你把手放在我的大腿底下起誓，要以慈愛和誠實對待我，不要把我埋葬在埃及。我與我的祖先同睡的時候，你要把我從埃及帶出去，埋葬在他們的墓地裡。”約瑟說：“我必照著你的話去作。”雅各說：“你要向我起誓。”約瑟就向他起了誓，於是以色列靠著床頭﹙“靠著床頭”有古譯本作“倚著杖頭”〔參來11:21〕﹚敬拜神。

‘我父親曾經叫我起誓，說：“看哪，我快要死了；你要把我埋葬在迦南地，在我為自己所掘的墳墓裡。”現在求你讓我上去，埋葬我的父親，之後我必定回來。’”
