Joseph said to them,“ Don’t be afraid, for am I in the place of God?

But Joseph said to them,“ Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God?

But Joseph answered them,“ Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God?

Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written,“ Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.”

Jacob’s anger burned against Rachel, and he said,“ Am I in God’s place, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?”

When the king of Israel had read the letter, he tore his clothes, and said,“ Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man sends to me to heal a man of his leprosy? But please consider and see how he seeks a quarrel against me.”

He doesn’t respect the persons of princes, nor respect the rich more than the poor; for they all are the work of his hands.In a moment they die, even at midnight. The people are shaken and pass away. The mighty are taken away without a hand.“ For his eyes are on the ways of a man. He sees all his goings.There is no darkness, nor thick gloom, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.For he doesn’t need to consider a man further, that he should go before God in judgment.He breaks mighty men in pieces in ways past finding out, and sets others in their place.Therefore he takes knowledge of their works. He overturns them in the night, so that they are destroyed.He strikes them as wicked men in the open sight of others;because they turned away from following him, and wouldn’t pay attention to any of his ways,so that they caused the cry of the poor to come to him. He heard the cry of the afflicted.When he gives quietness, who then can condemn? When he hides his face, who then can see him? He is over a nation or a man alike,

For we know him who said,“ Vengeance belongs to me;” says the Lord,“ I will repay.” Again,“ The Lord will judge his people.”

Now don’t be grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life.

Vengeance is mine, and recompense, at the time when their foot slides; for the day of their calamity is at hand. Their doom rushes at them.”

But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.He said to them,“ Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?

But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying,“ Cheer up! It is I! Don’t be afraid.”
