Joseph said to them,“ Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God?

約瑟曰、毋懼、報施在上帝、豈在我乎。

約瑟曰、毋懼、我豈代天主乎、

But Joseph said to them,“ Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God?

But Joseph replied,“ Don’t be afraid of me. Am I God, that I can punish you?

And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?

But Joseph answered them,“ Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God?

Joseph said to them,“ Don’t be afraid, for am I in the place of God?

Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written,“ Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.

And Jacob’s anger was aroused against Rachel, and he said,“ Am I in the place of God, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?”

And it happened, when the king of Israel read the letter, that he tore his clothes and said,“ Am I God, to kill and make alive, that this man sends a man to me to heal him of his leprosy? Therefore please consider, and see how he seeks a quarrel with me.”

Yet He is not partial to princes, Nor does He regard the rich more than the poor; For they are all the work of His hands.In a moment they die, in the middle of the night; The people are shaken and pass away; The mighty are taken away without a hand.“ For His eyes are on the ways of man, And He sees all his steps.There is no darkness nor shadow of death Where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.For He need not further consider a man, That he should go before God in judgment.He breaks in pieces mighty men without inquiry, And sets others in their place.Therefore he knows their works; He overthrows them in the night, And they are crushed.He strikes them as wicked men In the open sight of others,Because they turned back from Him, And would not consider any of His ways,So that they caused the cry of the poor to come to Him; For He hears the cry of the afflicted.When He gives quietness, who then can make trouble? And when He hides His face, who then can see Him, Whether it is against a nation or a man alone?—

For we know Him who said,“ Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again,“ The Lord will judge His people.”

But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life.

Vengeance is Mine, and recompense; Their foot shall slip in due time; For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things to come hasten upon them.’

But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit.And He said to them,“ Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts?

But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying,“ Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
