‘ Tell Joseph this: Please forgive the sin of your brothers and the wrong they did when they treated you so badly.’ Now please forgive the sin of the servants of the God of your father.” When this message was reported to him, Joseph wept.

當謂約瑟曰、昔諸昆惡待於爾、請宥諸昆之罪、我儕為汝父上帝之僕、請赦我過、言間、約瑟哭焉、

昔諸昆仲、待汝不善、吾今令爾宥其過、惟我儕為汝父上帝之僕、請赦我罪、約瑟聞言而哭。

當如是語約瑟云、昔爾諸兄待爾不善、我命爾赦其過、宥其罪、我儕為爾父之天主之僕、今求赦我罪、諸兄向約瑟言之、約瑟哭、

‘ This is what you are to say to Joseph: I ask you to forgive your brothers the sins and the wrongs they committed in treating you so badly.’ Now please forgive the sins of the servants of the God of your father.” When their message came to him, Joseph wept.

He said,‘ Here’s what you must say to Joseph. Tell him,“ I’m asking you to forgive your brothers. Forgive the terrible things they did to you. Forgive them for treating you so badly.” ’ Now then, please forgive our sins. We serve the God of your father.” When their message came to Joseph, he wept.

‘ Say to Joseph,“ Please forgive the transgression of your brothers and their sin, because they did evil to you.”’ And now, please forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your father.” Joseph wept when they spoke to him.

to say to you:‘ Please forgive your brothers for the great wrong they did to you— for their sin in treating you so cruelly.’ So we, the servants of the God of your father, beg you to forgive our sin.” When Joseph received the message, he broke down and wept.

‘ Say this to Joseph: Please forgive your brothers’ transgression and their sin— the suffering they caused you.’ Therefore, please forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your father.” Joseph wept when their message came to him.

‘ This is what you shall say to Joseph:“ Please forgive, I beg you, the offense of your brothers and their sin, for they did you wrong.” ’ And now, please forgive the offense of the servants of the God of your father.” And Joseph wept when they spoke to him.

‘ Thus you shall say to Joseph:“ I beg you, please forgive the trespass of your brothers and their sin; for they did evil to you.”’ Now, please, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of your father.” And Joseph wept when they spoke to him.

So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the transgression of thy brethren, and their sin, for that they did unto thee evil. And now, we pray thee, forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him.

‘ Say this to Joseph: Please forgive your brothers’ transgression and their sin— the suffering they caused you.’ Therefore, please forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your father.” Joseph wept when their message came to him.

So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him.

‘ You shall tell Joseph,“ Now please forgive the disobedience of your brothers, and their sin, because they did evil to you.”’ Now, please forgive the disobedience of the servants of the God of your father.” Joseph wept when they spoke to him.

“ For if you forgive others their sins, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.But if you do not forgive others, your Father will not forgive you your sins.

So confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great effectiveness.

Now when the other ten heard this, they became angry with James and John.

Instead, be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you.

Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with a heart of mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if someone happens to have a complaint against anyone else. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also forgive others.

And the king will answer them,‘ I tell you the truth, just as you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of mine, you did it for me.’

So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who belong to the family of faith.

Joseph said to his brothers,“ Come closer to me,” so they came near. Then he said,“ I am Joseph your brother, whom you sold into Egypt.Now, do not be upset and do not be angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me ahead of you to preserve life!

So now, it is not you who sent me here, but God. He has made me an adviser to Pharaoh, lord over all his household, and ruler over all the land of Egypt.

As for you, you meant to harm me, but God intended it for a good purpose, so he could preserve the lives of many people, as you can see this day.

Watch yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him.Even if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times returns to you saying,‘ I repent,’ you must forgive him.”

because of the God of your father, who will help you, because of the sovereign God, who will bless you with blessings from the sky above, blessings from the deep that lies below, and blessings of the breasts and womb.

And whoever gives only a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple, I tell you the truth, he will never lose his reward.”

and forgive us our debts, as we ourselves have forgiven our debtors.

They said to one other,“ Surely we’re being punished because of our brother, because we saw how distressed he was when he cried to us for mercy, but we refused to listen. That is why this distress has come on us!”Reuben said to them,“ Didn’t I say to you,‘ Don’t sin against the boy,’ but you wouldn’t listen? So now we must pay for shedding his blood!”( Now they did not know that Joseph could understand them, for he was speaking through an interpreter.)He turned away from them and wept. When he turned around and spoke to them again, he had Simeon taken from them and tied up before their eyes.

The one who covers his transgressions will not prosper, but whoever confesses them and forsakes them will find mercy.

That person sings to others, saying:‘ I have sinned and falsified what is right, but I was not punished according to what I deserved.He redeemed my life from going down to the place of corruption, and my life sees the light!’

So, although I have quite a lot of confidence in Christ and could command you to do what is proper,I would rather appeal to you on the basis of love– I, Paul, an old man and even now a prisoner for the sake of Christ Jesus–I am appealing to you concerning my child, whose spiritual father I have become during my imprisonment, that is, Onesimus,who was formerly useless to you, but is now useful to you and me.I have sent him( who is my very heart) back to you.I wanted to keep him so that he could serve me in your place during my imprisonment for the sake of the gospel.However, without your consent I did not want to do anything, so that your good deed would not be out of compulsion, but from your own willingness.For perhaps it was for this reason that he was separated from you for a little while, so that you would have him back eternally,no longer as a slave, but more than a slave, as a dear brother. He is especially so to me, and even more so to you now, both humanly speaking and in the Lord.Therefore if you regard me as a partner, accept him as you would me.Now if he has defrauded you of anything or owes you anything, charge what he owes to me.I, Paul, have written this letter with my own hand: I will repay it. I could also mention that you owe me your very self.Yes, brother, let me have some benefit from you in the Lord. Refresh my heart in Christ.

And all who will behave in accordance with this rule, peace and mercy be on them, and on the Israel of God.

So also my heavenly Father will do to you, if each of you does not forgive your brother from your heart.”

Yes, they intend to do you harm; they dream up a scheme, but they do not succeed.

If the God of my father– the God of Abraham, the one whom Isaac fears– had not been with me, you would certainly have sent me away empty-handed! But God saw how I was oppressed and how hard I worked, and he rebuked you last night.”
