His sons did to him just as he commanded them,

雅各的儿子们就遵着他父亲所吩咐的办了，

雅各的儿子们遵照父亲的吩咐去办了，

雅各的儿子们遵照父亲的吩咐去办了，

以色列的儿子们遵照父亲的遗言，

雅各的众子就照着父亲嘱咐他们的去作，

这样，雅各的儿子们就照着父亲吩咐他们的为他去做：

雅各的兒子們就遵着他父親所吩咐的辦了，

雅各的兒子們遵照父親的吩咐去辦了，

雅各的兒子們遵照父親的吩咐去辦了，

以色列的兒子們遵照父親的遺言，

雅各的眾子就照著父親囑咐他們的去作，

雅各的兒子們是這樣照他所吩咐的給他辦了。

這樣，雅各的兒子們就照著父親吩咐他們的為他去做：

雅各諸子、循父命而行、

雅各眾子循父命而行、

雅各眾子遵父命而行、

So Jacob’s sons did as he had commanded them:

So Jacob’s sons did exactly as he had commanded them.

Thus his sons did for him as he had commanded them,

“ Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

The time came near that Israel must die, and he called his son Joseph, and said to him,“ If now I have found favor in your sight, please put your hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me. Please don’t bury me in Egypt,but when I sleep with my fathers, you shall carry me out of Egypt, and bury me in their burying place.” Joseph said,“ I will do as you have said.”Israel said,“ Swear to me,” and he swore to him. Then Israel bowed himself on the bed’s head.

and they were brought back to Shechem, and laid in the tomb that Abraham bought for a price in silver from the children of Hamor of Shechem.

He instructed them, and said to them,“ I am to be gathered to my people. Bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,in the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field from Ephron the Hittite as a burial place.There they buried Abraham and Sarah, his wife. There they buried Isaac and Rebekah, his wife, and there I buried Leah:the field and the cave that is therein, which was purchased from the children of Heth.”
