And so his sons did for him as he had commanded them;

雅各的儿子们就遵着他父亲所吩咐的办了，

以色列的儿子们遵照父亲的遗言，

雅各的众子就照着父亲嘱咐他们的去作，

这样，雅各的儿子们就照着父亲吩咐他们的为他去做：

雅各的兒子們就遵着他父親所吩咐的辦了，

雅各的兒子們遵照父親的吩咐去辦了，

雅各的兒子們遵照父親的吩咐去辦了，

以色列的兒子們遵照父親的遺言，

雅各的眾子就照著父親囑咐他們的去作，

雅各的兒子們是這樣照他所吩咐的給他辦了。

這樣，雅各的兒子們就照著父親吩咐他們的為他去做：

雅各諸子、循父命而行、

雅各眾子循父命而行、

雅各眾子遵父命而行、

So Jacob’s sons did as he had commanded them:

So Jacob’s sons did exactly as he had commanded them.

And his sons did unto him according as he commanded them:

So the sons of Jacob did for him just as he had instructed them.

His sons did to him just as he commanded them,

“ Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be prolonged on the land which the Lord your God gives you.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

When the time for Israel to die drew near, he called his son Joseph and said to him,“ Please, if I have found favor in your sight, place your hand under my thigh now and deal with me in kindness and faithfulness: please do not bury me in Egypt,but when I lie down with my fathers, you shall carry me out of Egypt and bury me in their burial place.” And he said,“ I will do as you have said.”And he said,“ Swear to me.” So he swore to him. Then Israel bowed in worship at the head of the bed.

And they were brought back from there to Shechem and laid in the tomb which Abraham had purchased for a sum of money from the sons of Hamor in Shechem.

Then he commanded them and said to them,“ I am about to be gathered to my people; bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,in the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is opposite Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought along with the field from Ephron the Hittite as a burial site.There they buried Abraham and his wife Sarah, there they buried Isaac and his wife Rebekah, and there I buried Leah—the field and the cave that is in it, purchased from the sons of Heth.”
