And Joab gave the number of the census of the people to the king: in Israel there were eight hundred thousand valiant men who drew the sword, and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.

Now these are the men who came to David at Ziklag, while he was still restricted because of Saul the son of Kish; and they were among the mighty men who helped him in war.They were equipped with bows, using both the right hand and the left to sling stones and shoot arrows with the bow; they were Saul’s kinsmen from Benjamin.The chief was Ahiezer, then Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite; and Jeziel and Pelet, the sons of Azmaveth, and Beracah, and Jehu the Anathothite,and Ishmaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among the thirty, and in charge of the thirty. Then Jeremiah, Jahaziel, Johanan, Jozabad the Gederathite,Eluzai, Jerimoth, Bealiah, Shemariah, Shephatiah the Haruphite,Elkanah, Isshiah, Azarel, Joezer, Jashobeam, the Korahites,and Joelah and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham of Gedor.From the Gadites valiant mighty men went over to David at the stronghold in the wilderness, men trained for war who could handle a large shield and spear, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and they were as swift as the gazelles on the mountains.Ezer was the first, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third,Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth,Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh,Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth,Jeremiah the tenth, and Machbannai, the eleventh.These men from the sons of Gad were captains of the army; the one who was least was equal to a hundred, and the greatest, to a thousand.These are the ones who crossed the Jordan in the first month, when it was overflowing all its banks, and they put to flight all those in the valleys, to the east and to the west.Then some of the sons of Benjamin and Judah came to the stronghold to David.David went out to meet them, and said to them,“ If you come peacefully to help me, my heart shall be united with you; but if to betray me to my enemies, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers look on it and decide.”Then the Spirit covered Amasai like clothing, the chief of the thirty; and he said,“ We are yours, David, And are with you, son of Jesse! But they did not help them, because the governors of the Philistines sent him away after consultation, saying,“ At the cost of our heads he might defect to his master Saul.”As he was going to Ziklag, men from Manasseh defected to him: Adnah, Jozabad, Jediael, Michael, Jozabad, Elihu, and Zillethai, captains of thousands who belonged to Manasseh.They helped David against the band of raiders, for they were all valiant mighty men, and were captains in the army.For day by day men came to David to help him, until there was a great army like the army of God.Now these are the numbers of the divisions equipped for war, who came to David at Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the Lord.The sons of Judah who carried shield and spear numbered 6,800, equipped for war.From the sons of Simeon, valiant mighty men of war, 7,100.From the sons of Levi, 4,600.Now Jehoiada was the leader of the house of Aaron, and with him were 3,700,also Zadok, a young valiant mighty man, and from his father’s house, twenty two captains.From the sons of Benjamin, Saul’s kinsmen, three thousand; for until now the majority of them had kept their allegiance to the house of Saul.From the sons of Ephraim 20,800, valiant mighty men, famous men in their fathers’ households.From the half tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, who were designated by name to come and make David king.From the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their kinsmen were at their command.From Zebulun, there were fifty thousand who went out in the army, who could draw up in battle formation with all kinds of weapons of war and helped David with an undivided heart.From Naphtali there were a thousand captains, and with them thirty seven thousand with shield and spear.From the Danites who could draw up in battle formation, there were 28,600.From Asher there were forty thousand who went out in the army to draw up in battle formation.From the other side of the Jordan, from the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, there were 120,000 with all kinds of weapons of war for the battle.All of these, being men of war who helped in battle formation, came to Hebron with a perfect heart to make David king over all Israel; and all the rest of Israel also were of one mind to make David king.They were there with David for three days, eating and drinking, for their kinsmen had prepared for them.Moreover, those who were near to them, as far as Issachar, Zebulun, and Naphtali, brought food on donkeys, camels, mules, and on oxen, great quantities of flour cakes, fig cakes and bunches of raisins, wine, oil, oxen, and sheep. There was joy indeed in Israel.

God is known in Judah; His name is great in Israel.

When they brought these kings out to Joshua, Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said to the leaders of the men of war who had gone with him,“ Come forward, put your feet on the necks of these kings.” So they came forward and put their feet on their necks.

Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying,“ The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever.”

Now Joseph was the ruler over the land; he was the one who sold grain to all the people of the land. And Joseph’s brothers came and bowed down to him with their faces to the ground.

And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and those from Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon who resided with them, for many defected to him from Israel when they saw that the Lord his God was with him.

for behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and behold, my sheaf stood up and also remained standing; and behold, your sheaves gathered around and bowed down to my sheaf.”Then his brothers said to him,“ Are you actually going to reign over us? Or are you really going to rule over us?” So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words.Then he had yet another dream, and informed his brothers of it, and said,“ Behold, I have had yet another dream; and behold, the sun and the moon, and eleven stars were bowing down to me.”He also told it to his father as well as to his brothers; and his father rebuked him and said to him,“ What is this dream that you have had? Am I and your mother and your brothers actually going to come to bow down to the ground before you?”

Now it came about after the death of Joshua that the sons of Israel inquired of the Lord, saying,“ Who shall go up first for us against the Canaanites, to fight against them?”The Lord said,“ Judah shall go up; behold, I have handed the land over to him.”

Now the sons of Israel set out, went up to Bethel, and inquired of God and said,“ Who shall go up first for us to battle against the sons of Benjamin?” Then the Lord said,“ Judah shall go up first.”

Now King Solomon was king over all Israel.These were his officials: Azariah the son of Zadok was the priest;Elihoreph and Ahijah, the sons of Shisha were scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was the secretary;and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the army; and Zadok and Abiathar were priests;and Azariah the son of Nathan was over the deputies; and Zabud the son of Nathan, a priest, was the king’s confidant;and Ahishar was over the household; and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the forced labor.Solomon had twelve deputies over all Israel, who provided food for the king and his household; each deputy had to provide food for a month in the year.And these were their names: Ben hur, in the hill country of Ephraim;Ben deker in Makaz and Shaalbim, and Beth shemesh, and Elonbeth hanan;Ben hesed in Arubboth( Socoh was his and all the land of Hepher);Ben abinadab in all the hills of Dor( Taphath the daughter of Solomon was his wife);Baana the son of Ahilud in Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth shean which is beside Zarethan below Jezreel, from Beth shean to Abel meholah as far as the other side of Jokmeam;Ben geber in Ramoth gilead( the villages of Jair, the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead were his: the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, sixty great cities with walls and bronze bars were his);Ahinadab the son of Iddo in Mahanaim;Ahimaaz in Naphtali( he also married Basemath the daughter of Solomon);Baana the son of Hushai in Asher and Bealoth;Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah in Issachar;Shimei the son of Ela in Benjamin;Geber the son of Uri in the land of Gilead, the country of Sihon king of the Amorites and of Og king of Bashan; and he was the only deputy who was in the land.Judah and Israel were as numerous as the sand that is on the seashore in abundance; they were eating, drinking, and rejoicing.Now Solomon was ruling over all the kingdoms from the Euphrates River to the land of the Philistines and to the border of Egypt; they brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.Solomon’s provision for one day was thirty kors of fine flour and sixty kors of meal,ten fat oxen, twenty pasture fed oxen, and a hundred sheep, besides deer, gazelles, roebucks, and fattened geese.For he was ruling over everything west of the Euphrates River, from Tiphsah even to Gaza, over all the kings west of the River; and he had peace on all sides surrounding him.So Judah and Israel lived securely, everyone under his vine and his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.And those deputies provided food for King Solomon and all who came to King Solomon’s table, each in his month; they allowed nothing to be lacking.They also brought barley and straw for the war horses and baggage horses to the place where it was required, each deputy according to his duty.Now God gave Solomon wisdom and very great discernment and breadth of mind, like the sand that is on the seashore.Solomon’s wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the people of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt.For he was wiser than all other people, more than Ethan the Ezrahite, Heman, Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and his fame was known in all the surrounding nations.He also told three thousand proverbs, and his songs numbered 1,005.He told of trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon even to the hyssop that grows on the wall; he told also of animals, birds, crawling things, and fish.People came from all the nations to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom.

Nevertheless, some men of Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem.

He placed troops in all the fortified cities of Judah, and placed garrisons in the land of Judah and in the cities of Ephraim which his father Asa had captured.

You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, And I destroyed those who hated me.

This was their muster according to their fathers’ households: of Judah, commanders of thousands, Adnah was the commander, and with him three hundred thousand valiant warriors;and next to him was Johanan the commander, and with him 280,000;and next to him Amasiah the son of Zichri, who volunteered for the Lord, and with him two hundred thousand valiant warriors;

But chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which He loved.And He built His sanctuary like the heights, Like the earth which He has established forever.He also chose His servant David And took him from the sheepfolds;From the care of the ewes with nursing lambs He brought him To shepherd Jacob His people, And Israel His inheritance.

So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and King David made a covenant with them before the Lord in Hebron; then they anointed David king over Israel.

Then Judah approached him and said,“ Oh my lord, may your servant please speak a word in my lord’s ears, and do not be angry with your servant; for you are equal to Pharaoh.My lord asked his servants, saying,‘ Have you a father or a brother?’And we said to my lord,‘ We have an old father and a little boy born in our father’s old age. Now his brother is dead, so he alone is left of his mother, and his father loves him.’Then you said to your servants,‘ Bring him down to me so that I may set my eyes on him.’But we said to my lord,‘ The boy cannot leave his father, for if he should leave his father, his father would die.’You said to your servants, however,‘ Unless your youngest brother comes down with you, you will not see my face again.’So it came about when we went up to your servant my father, we told him the words of my lord.And our father said,‘ Go back, buy us a little food.’But we said,‘ We cannot go down. If our youngest brother is with us, then we will go down; for we cannot see the man’s face unless our youngest brother is with us.’Then your servant my father said to us,‘ You know that my wife bore me two sons;and the one left me, and I said,“ Surely he is torn to pieces,” and I have not seen him since.If you also take this one from me, and harm happens to him, you will bring my gray hair down to Sheol in sorrow.’So now, when I come to your servant, my father, and the boy is not with us— since our father’s life is so attached to the boy’s life—when he sees that the boy is not with us, he will die. So your servants will bring the gray hair of your servant, our father, down to Sheol in sorrow.For your servant accepted responsibility for the boy from my father, saying,‘ If I do not bring him back to you, then my father can let me take the blame forever.’So now, please let your servant remain as a slave to my lord instead of the boy, and let the boy go up with his brothers.For how shall I go up to my father if the boy is not with me? I fear that I may see the evil that would overtake my father.”

while they see false visions for you, while they divine lies for you— to place you on the necks of the wicked who are killed, whose day has come, in the time of the punishment of the end.

their numbered men of the tribe of Judah were 74,600.

Now Asa had an army of three hundred thousand from Judah, carrying large shields and spears, and 280,000 from Benjamin, carrying shields and wielding bows; all of them were valiant warriors.

You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, And I destroyed those who hated me.They cried for help, but there was no one to save, They cried to the Lord, but He did not answer them.Then I beat them fine like the dust before the wind; I emptied them out like the mud of the streets.You have rescued me from the contentions of the people; You have placed me as head of the nations; A people whom I have not known serve me.

so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of armies will accomplish this.

He put shields and spears in every city and strengthened them greatly. So he held Judah and Benjamin.Moreover, the priests and the Levites who were in all Israel also stood with him from all their districts.For the Levites left their pasture lands and their property and went to Judah and Jerusalem, because Jeroboam and his sons had excluded them from serving as priests to the Lord.He set up priests of his own for the high places, for the satyrs and the calves which he had made.Those from all the tribes of Israel who set their hearts on seeking the Lord God of Israel followed them to Jerusalem, to sacrifice to the Lord God of their fathers.They strengthened the kingdom of Judah and supported Rehoboam the son of Solomon for three years, for they walked in the way of David and Solomon for three years.

And one of the elders* said to me,“ Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to be able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

And the sons of Judah: Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah( but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan). And the sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.

These are the families of Judah by those who were numbered of them, 76,500.
