約瑟有信、臨終預言以色列民得離埃及、因命挈骸骨以歸、

施仁行義之輩、淹忽以沒、人不以為意、不知其逝世者、正以避患耳。為義者卒於正寢、得考終命。

於是雅各及我列祖、咸往埃及終焉、

以實馬利享壽一百三十七年、氣絕而終、遂返其本。

人則異是、始則血衰、既而氣絕、歸於無有。

我知爾必致我於死、入億兆當歸之窀穸。

有冢子之會錄於天、有鞫眾之上帝、有義人得全其神、

此皆有信、雖至沒、不得所許之福、第遙望欣喜以晉接、自謂於世若賓旅、如是者、明言其欲得土、彼若思所出之故鄉、則有轉機、然其所慕者於天有至樂之國、故上帝雖為彼上帝、而不以為恥、為之備邑、

遂攜之門外曰、仰觀乎天、眾星可悉數與。又曰、汝苗裔必如是。

恃以色列有力之牧者、即雅各有能之上帝、故其弓仍勁、其手尚強。爾父之上帝、眷祐於爾、全能之主、錫嘏於爾、天上之繁祉、地下之名泉、產育乳哺之福。爾父之福、恆久不已、勝於亙古山嶽所出之寶物、昔約瑟遠兄弟而去、此福必歸其首。

爾壽期頤、然後入土、譬諸露積、屆期蓋藏。

今如主所言、可釋僕安然以逝、

告民曰、我儕以此石為憑、耶和華所諭我者、斯石聞之、如爾違爾上帝、可以此石為憑。約書亞遂散民、各歸其業。○茲後耶和華僕、嫩之子約書亞年百有十歲而死、

雅各召眾子曰、當集於前、我將以異日之事告爾。
