此皆至死有信而未得所許者、惟遙望之、即欣喜以待、自謂在世為客旅、為寄居者、凡自謂如是者、明其欲得家鄉、彼若思所出之故鄉、尚有機可返、然彼等慕更美之家鄉、即在天者、故天主自稱為彼之天主不以為恥、而為之備邑、

遂攜之出外曰、仰觀天、試數眾星能勝數呼、又曰、爾之後裔必如是、

惟賴雅各之全能天主、其弓堅勁、手臂強捷、由此為牧、為以色列所倚之磐、惟願爾父之天主輔助爾、全能天主、賜福於爾、上自高天所降之福、下自深淵所出之福、賜爾產育乳哺之福、賜爾產育乳哺之福原文作賜爾乳與胎之福爾父為爾所祝之福、勝於我祖父為我所祝之福、此福如山嶺之恆久、願降於約瑟之首、歸於兄弟中最尊者之頂、○

爾壽高始歸墓、猶如禾束、屆期蓋藏、

主、今可依主所言、釋僕安然逝世、

約書亞謂民眾曰、凡主諭我諸言、此石皆聞之、可對我儕作證、如爾違主爾之天主、有此石對爾作證、約書亞遂遣散民眾、各歸其業、○斯事之後、主之僕嫩之子約書亞卒、年一百有十歲、

雅各召眾子曰、爾曹集前、我將以後日所遇之事告爾、
