Then he gave them these instructions:“ I am about to be gathered to my people. Bury me with my fathers in the cave in the field of Ephron the Hittite,

Then Jacob gave directions to his sons. He said,“ I’m about to join the members of my family who have already died. Bury me with them in the cave in the field of Ephron, the Hittite.

Then Jacob instructed them,“ Soon I will die and join my ancestors. Bury me with my father and grandfather in the cave in the field of Ephron the Hittite.

我與祖先同眠後，你要把我帶出埃及安葬在我祖先的身邊。」約瑟說：「我必照你說的做。」

而你必享長壽，安然離世。

這裡有名字記錄在天上的眾長子的教會，有審判眾人的上帝和已達到純全的義人的靈魂，

年紀老邁，壽終正寢。他的兒子以掃和雅各把他安葬了。

我們照所得的恩典各有不同的恩賜。說預言的，要按著信心的程度說預言；服侍的，要忠心服侍；教導的，要專一教導；勸勉的，要誠心勸勉；施捨的，要慷慨施捨；治理的，要殷勤治理；憐憫的，要甘心憐憫。不可虛情假意地愛人。要嫉惡如仇，一心向善。要彼此相愛如同手足，互相尊重，彼此謙讓。要殷勤，不可懶惰，要常常火熱地事奉主。盼望中要有喜樂，患難中要堅忍，禱告要恆切。信徒有缺乏，要慷慨幫助；客人來訪，要熱誠款待。迫害你們的，要為他們祝福；要祝福，不可咒詛。要與喜樂的人同樂，與哀哭的人同哭。要彼此和睦，不可心高氣傲，反要俯就卑微的人，不可自以為聰明。不要以惡報惡。要尊重別人，眾人都認為好的事，應該竭力去做。如果可能，總要盡力與人和睦相處。親愛的弟兄姊妹，不要私自報復，要讓上帝來審判，因為聖經上說：「主說，『伸冤在我，我必報應。』」所以，「你的仇敵若餓了，就給他吃的；若渴了，就給他喝的；你這樣做是把炭火堆在他頭上。」你不可被惡所勝，反要以善勝惡。

請准我回去，我好死在故鄉，葬在父母的墓旁。這裡有王的僕人金罕，讓他跟我主我王一起去。你看怎麼好，就怎麼對待他吧。」

享盡天年，壽終正寢，歸到他祖先那裡。他的兩個兒子以撒和以實瑪利把他安葬在麥比拉洞，那山洞在幔利附近、赫人瑣轄的兒子以弗崙的地裡。那塊地是亞伯拉罕向赫人買的，他和妻子撒拉葬在一起。亞伯拉罕去世以後，上帝賜福給他的兒子以撒。以撒住在庇耳·拉海·萊附近。以實瑪利是亞伯拉罕和撒拉的婢女埃及人夏甲所生的兒子。以下是以實瑪利的兒子，按出生的次序是：尼拜約、基達、亞德別、米比衫、米施瑪、度瑪、瑪撒、哈大、提瑪、伊突、拿非施、基底瑪。他這十二個兒子後來分別成了十二個族的族長，各有自己的村莊和營寨。以實瑪利活了一百三十七歲，壽終正寢，歸到他祖先那裡。
