He sent a man before them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave.They forced his feet into shackles, He was put in irons;Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of the Lord refined him.The king sent and released him, The ruler of peoples, and set him free.He made him lord of his house, And ruler over all his possessions,To imprison his high officials at will, That he might teach his elders wisdom.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and multiply you, so that you may become a multitude of peoples.May He also give you the blessing of Abraham, to you and to your descendants with you, so that you may possess the land where you live as a stranger, which God gave to Abraham.”

His descendants shall endure forever, And his throne as the sun before Me.

So he came close and kissed him; and when he smelled the smell of his garments, he blessed him and said,“ See, the smell of my son Is like the smell of a field which the Lord has blessed;Now may God give you of the dew of heaven, And of the fatness of the earth, And an abundance of grain and new wine;May peoples serve you, And nations bow down to you; Be master of your brothers, And may your mother’s sons bow down to you.
