But his bow remained firm, And his arms were agile, From the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob( From there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel),

恃以色列有力之牧者、即雅各有能之上帝、故其弓仍勁、其手尚強。

惟賴雅各之全能天主、其弓堅勁、手臂強捷、由此為牧、為以色列所倚之磐、

But his bow remained steady, his strong arms stayed limber, because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,

But his bow remained steady. His strong arms moved freely. The hand of the Mighty God of Jacob was with him. The Shepherd, the Rock of Israel, stood by him.

yet his bow remained unmoved; his arms were made agile by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob( from there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel),

But his bow remained taut, and his arms were strengthened by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, by the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel.

Yet his bow remained steady, and his strong arms were made agile by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, by the name of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,

But his bow remained in strength, And the arms of his hands were made strong By the hands of the Mighty God of Jacob( From there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel),

But his bow abode in strength, And the arms of his hands were made strong, By the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob( From thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel),

Yet his bow remained steady, and his strong arms were made agile by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, by the name of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,

But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty[ God] of Jacob;( from thence[ is] the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,

But his bow remained strong. The arms of his hands were made strong, by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob,( from there is the shepherd, the stone of Israel),

Therefore this is what the Lord God says:“ Behold, I am laying a stone in Zion, a tested stone, A precious cornerstone for the foundation, firmly placed. The one who believes in it will not be disturbed.

How he swore to the Lord And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob,

Until I find a place for the Lord, A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

My glory is ever new with me, And my bow is renewed in my hand.’

As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the Lord is refined; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.

Listen, Shepherd of Israel, Who leads Joseph like a flock; You who are enthroned above the cherubim, shine forth!

having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone,

The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and just is He.

Therefore the Lord God of armies, The Mighty One of Israel, declares,“ Ah, I will have satisfaction against My adversaries, And avenge Myself on My enemies.

A stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone.

For all of them were trying to frighten us, thinking,“ They will become discouraged with the work and it will not be done.” But now, God, strengthen my hands.

“ May the Lord, the God of the spirits of humanity, appoint a man over the congregation,who will go out and come in before them, and lead them out and bring them in, so that the congregation of the Lord will not be like sheep that have no shepherd.”So the Lord said to Moses,“ Take Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand on him;

There I will also provide for you, for there are still five years of famine to come, and you and your household and all that you have would be impoverished.” ’

And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by people, but is choice and precious in the sight of God,you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.For this is contained in Scripture:“ Behold, I am laying in Zion a choice stone, a precious cornerstone, And the one who believes in Him will not be put to shame.”This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for unbelievers,“ A stone which the builders rejected, This became the chief cornerstone,”and,“ A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense”; for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this they were also appointed.

And He said,“ I am the God of your father— the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Then Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

So therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” So he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.

Those who err in mind will know the truth, And those who criticize will accept instruction.

Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

The God who encircles me with strength, And makes my way blameless?He makes my feet like deer’s feet, And sets me up on my high places.He trains my hands for battle, So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.You have also given me the shield of Your salvation, And Your right hand upholds me; And Your gentleness makes me great.

strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all perseverance and patience; joyously

The wicked have drawn the sword and bent their bow To take down the afflicted and the needy, To kill off those who are upright in conduct.Their sword will enter their own heart, And their bows will be broken.

And I will strengthen them in the Lord, And in His name they will walk,” declares the Lord.

Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will also help you, I will also uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

For behold, the stone that I have put before Joshua; on one stone are seven eyes. Behold, I am going to engrave an inscription on it,’ declares the Lord of armies,‘ and I will remove the guilt of that land in one day.

Joseph also provided his father and his brothers and all his father’s household with food, according to the number of their little ones.

Then Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel at Shechem, and called for the elders of Israel, their heads, their judges, and their officers; and they presented themselves before God.Joshua said to all the people,“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel says:‘ From ancient times your fathers lived beyond the Euphrates River, namely, Terah, the father of Abraham and the father of Nahor, and they served other gods.Then I took your father Abraham from beyond the Euphrates River and led him through all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his descendants and gave him Isaac.To Isaac I gave Jacob and Esau, and to Esau I gave Mount Seir, to possess it; but Jacob and his sons went down to Egypt.Then I sent Moses and Aaron, and I plagued Egypt by what I did in its midst; and afterward I brought you out.So I brought your fathers out of Egypt, and you came to the sea; and Egypt pursued your fathers with chariots and horsemen to the Red Sea.But when they cried out to the Lord, He put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea upon them and covered them; and your own eyes saw what I did in Egypt. And you lived in the wilderness for a long time.Then I brought you into the land of the Amorites, who lived beyond the Jordan, and they fought with you; but I handed them over to you, and you took possession of their land when I eliminated them before you.Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, rose up and fought against Israel, and he sent messengers and summoned Balaam the son of Beor to curse you.But I was not willing to listen to Balaam. So he had to bless you, and I saved you from his hand.You crossed the Jordan and came to Jericho; and the citizens of Jericho fought against you, and the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Girgashite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite. Therefore I handed them over to you.Then I sent the hornet before you and it drove out the two kings of the Amorites from you— not by your sword nor your bow.And I gave you a land on which you had not labored, and cities which you had not built, and you have lived in them; you are eating of vineyards and olive groves which you did not plant.’“ Now, therefore, fear the Lord and serve Him in sincerity and truth; and do away with the gods which your fathers served beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord.But if it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served, which were beyond the Euphrates River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”The people answered and said,“ Far be it from us that we would abandon the Lord to serve other gods;for the Lord our God is He who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slaves, and did these great signs in our sight and watched over us through all the way in which we went and among all the peoples through whose midst we passed.The Lord drove out from before us all the peoples, even the Amorites who lived in the land. We also will serve the Lord, for He is our God.”Then Joshua said to the people,“ You will not be able to serve the Lord, for He is a holy God. He is a jealous God; He will not forgive your wrongdoing or your sins.If you abandon the Lord and serve foreign gods, then He will turn and do you harm and destroy you after He has done good to you.”And the people said to Joshua,“ No, but we will serve the Lord.”So Joshua said to the people,“ You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen for yourselves the Lord, to serve Him.” And they said,“ We are witnesses.”“ Now then, do away with the foreign gods which are in your midst, and incline your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”And the people said to Joshua,“ We will serve the Lord our God and obey His voice.”So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and made for them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem.And Joshua wrote these words in the Book of the Law of God; and he took a large stone and set it up there under the oak that was by the sanctuary of the Lord.Then Joshua said to all the people,“ Behold, this stone shall be a witness against us, because it has heard all the words of the Lord which He spoke to us; so it shall be a witness against you, so that you do not deny your God.”Then Joshua dismissed the people, each to his inheritance.Now it came about after these things that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died, being 110 years old.And they buried him in the territory of his inheritance, in Timnath serah, which is in the hill country of Ephraim, on the north of Mount Gaash.Israel served the Lord all the days of Joshua and all the days of the elders who survived Joshua, and had known every deed of the Lord which He had done for Israel.Now they buried the bones of Joseph, which the sons of Israel brought up from Egypt, at Shechem, in the plot of land which Jacob had bought from the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for a hundred pieces of money; and they became the inheritance of Joseph’s sons.And Eleazar the son of Aaron died; and they buried him at Gibeah, the town of his son Phinehas, which was given to him in the hill country of Ephraim.

God said to him,“ Your name is Jacob; You shall no longer be called Jacob, But Israel shall be your name.” So He called him Israel.God also said to him,“ I am God Almighty; Be fruitful and multiply; A nation and a multitude of nations shall come from you, And kings shall come from you.

Jesus* said to them,“ Did you never read in the Scriptures,‘ A stone which the builders rejected, This has become the chief cornerstone; This came about from the Lord, And it is marvelous in our eyes’?

But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that through me the proclamation might be fully accomplished, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was rescued out of the lion’s mouth.

Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord.

The Lord is my shepherd, I will not be in need.

He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief cornerstone.

So God sent me ahead of you to ensure for you a remnant on the earth, and to keep you alive by a great deliverance.

But Jesus looked at them and said,“ Then what is this statement that has been written:‘ A stone which the builders rejected, This has become the chief cornerstone’?

“ I love You, Lord, my strength.”

Now do not be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me ahead of you to save lives.

Now it came about after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ servant, saying,“ Moses My servant is dead; so now arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel.Every place on which the sole of your foot steps, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses.From the wilderness and this Lebanon, even as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and as far as the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun will be your territory.No one will be able to oppose you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not desert you nor abandon you.Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the Law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may achieve success wherever you go.This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will achieve success.Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

I will sing of the graciousness of the Lord forever; To all generations I will make Your faithfulness known with my mouth.

Have you not even read this Scripture:‘ A stone which the builders rejected, This has become the chief cornerstone;

But You have saved us from our adversaries, And You have put to shame those who hate us.

The Lord is their strength, And He is a refuge of salvation to His anointed.

You will also suck the milk of nations, And suck the breast of kings; Then you will know that I, the Lord, am your Savior And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

Now Joshua the son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, because Moses had laid his hands on him; and the sons of Israel listened to him and did as the Lord had commanded Moses.
