The right to rule will not leave Judah. The ruler’s scepter will not be taken from between his feet. It will be his until the king it belongs to will come. The nations will obey that king.

This is the name by which he will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Savior.

For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.

A ruin! A ruin! I will make it a ruin! The crown will not be restored until he to whom it rightfully belongs shall come; to him I will give it.’

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

They will pass through the sea of trouble; the surging sea will be subdued and all the depths of the Nile will dry up. Assyria’s pride will be brought down and Egypt’s scepter will pass away.

For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; it is he who will save us.

he says:“ It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.”This is what the Lord says— the Redeemer and Holy One of Israel— to him who was despised and abhorred by the nation, to the servant of rulers:“ Kings will see you and stand up, princes will see and bow down, because of the Lord, who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”

He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; he will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four quarters of the earth.Ephraim’s jealousy will vanish, and Judah’s enemies will be destroyed; Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah, nor Judah hostile toward Ephraim.

See, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a ruler and commander of the peoples.Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations you do not know will come running to you, because of the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor.”

A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth. In his teaching the islands will put their hope.”

“ Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven‘ sevens,’ and sixty- two‘ sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble.

And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”

And again, Isaiah says,“ The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; in him the Gentiles will hope.”

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

“ I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”I will proclaim the Lord’s decree: He said to me,“ You are my son; today I have become your father.Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.You will break them with a rod of iron; you will dash them to pieces like pottery.”

The Lord has made proclamation to the ends of the earth:“ Say to Daughter Zion,‘ See, your Savior comes! See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.’”

In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his resting place will be glorious.

While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said,“ This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”

“ Many nations will be joined with the Lord in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.

“ Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.

Their leader will be one of their own; their ruler will arise from among them. I will bring him near and he will come close to me— for who is he who will devote himself to be close to me?’ declares the Lord.

For my eyes have seen your salvation,which you have prepared in the sight of all nations:a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.”

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist.

“ Go,” he told him,“ wash in the Pool of Siloam”( this word means“ Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.

All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

This is what the Sovereign Lord says:“ See, I will beckon to the nations, I will lift up my banner to the peoples; they will bring your sons in their arms and carry your daughters on their hips.Kings will be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down before you with their faces to the ground; they will lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the Lord; those who hope in me will not be disappointed.”

Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.“ Lift up your eyes and look about you: All assemble and come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the hip.Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come.

Its branches were strong, fit for a ruler’s scepter. It towered high above the thick foliage, conspicuous for its height and for its many branches.

This is what the Lord Almighty says:“ Many peoples and the inhabitants of many cities will yet come,and the inhabitants of one city will go to another and say,‘ Let us go at once to entreat the Lord and seek the Lord Almighty. I myself am going.’And many peoples and powerful nations will come to Jerusalem to seek the Lord Almighty and to entreat him.”This is what the Lord Almighty says:“ In those days ten people from all languages and nations will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say,‘ Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.’”

The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:“ The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.”

Fire spread from one of its main branches and consumed its fruit. No strong branch is left on it fit for a ruler’s scepter.’“ This is a lament and is to be used as a lament.”

I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord Almighty.

The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,“ Hosanna to the Son of David!”“ Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”“ Hosanna in the highest heaven!”

From then on, Pilate tried to set Jesus free, but the Jewish leaders kept shouting,“ If you let this man go, you are no friend of Caesar. Anyone who claims to be a king opposes Caesar.”
