As I was returning from Paddan, to my sorrow Rachel died in the land of Canaan while we were still on the way, a little distance from Ephrath. So I buried her there beside the road to Ephrath”( that is, Bethlehem).

雅各從巴旦．亞蘭回來以後，神再次向他顯現，賜福給他。

“在拉瑪聽見有聲音，是痛哭、極大哀號的聲音；拉結為她的兒女哀哭，不肯受安慰，因為他們都不在了。”

這個人名叫以利米勒，妻子名叫拿俄米，兩個兒子叫瑪倫和基連，都是猶大伯利恆的以法他人。他們到了摩押地，就在那裡住下來了。

大衛是猶大伯利恆的以法他人耶西的兒子；耶西有八個兒子。在掃羅的日子，耶西已經年紀老邁了。

今天你離開我以後，在便雅憫境內的泄撒，靠近拉結墳墓的旁邊，必遇見兩個人。他們會對你說：‘你去尋找的那幾頭母驢已經找到了。現在你父親放下了母驢的事，反而為你擔憂，說：我為我的兒子要怎麼辦呢？’

伯利恆以法他啊！你在猶大諸城中雖然細小（“伯利恆……細小”有古卷作“以法他家啊，你在猶大諸族中雖然細小”），必有一位從你那裡出來，為我作以色列的統治者；他的根源從太初，從亙古就有了。（本節在《馬索拉文本》為5:1）

以撒娶利百加為妻的時候，正四十歲。利百加是巴旦．亞蘭地、亞蘭人彼土利的女兒，是亞蘭人拉班的妹妹。

在以法蓮山地的拉瑪．瑣非，有一個以法蓮人名叫以利加拿，是耶羅罕的兒子、以利戶的孫子、託戶的曾孫、蘇弗的玄孫。
